Developing life-long learners through positive collaboration
Notes from Dr. Jacob
As we head into December and wrap up an exciting first semester, I want to take a moment to share how grateful I am for our incredible MCE community. Each day, I’m reminded of the kindness, teamwork, and determination shown by our students, staff, and families. Your support—whether through encouraging learning at home, attending events, or partnering with us in everyday routines—makes a meaningful difference.
I’m looking forward to celebrating our students’ accomplishments at our 2nd Quarter Celebration on Thursday, January 9th at 8:30 a.m. This is always a special time to highlight growth, effort, and the joy of learning. Teachers will reach out to families of students who will be recognized during the celebration.
As we move into the holiday season, I hope your family finds time to slow down, enjoy traditions, and make memories together. Thank you for being such an important part of what makes MCE a supportive and joyful place for children to learn and grow.
Together, we continue developing life-long learners through positive collaboration.
With gratitude,
Dr. Jacob
Principal, Montgomery City Elementary
Drop-Off & Pick-Up Safety Reminders
Families, thank you for helping us keep arrival and dismissal running smoothly. Please remember to stay in one single line during drop-off and pick-up. Passing other cars creates blind spots and puts pedestrians at unnecessary risk. Your patience truly keeps our students safe.
We also ask that parents use the vestibule window to speak with our school secretary in the mornings rather than entering the office. This helps us maintain a secure and efficient start to the day.
Thank you for your continued cooperation and commitment to safety. 💙🐾
Supporting Students at Home: PBIS & Executive Function Tools
This month’s newsletter includes two helpful resources for families: our PAWSitively PBIS newsletter and a set of Executive Function Scripts.
The PBIS newsletter highlights the expectations we teach at school, the celebrations students can earn, and simple ways you can reinforce positive behavior at home.
You’ll also find Executive Function scripts—quick phrases that make it easier to guide children through organization, planning, and follow-through. These scripts give students the structure they need while building independence over time.
We hope these tools make it easier to support routines, learning habits, and positive behaviors both at school and at home!
What's Coming Up at MCE?
Holiday Spirit Week!
We’re excited to celebrate the season with some festive fun! Students and staff are invited to join in our Holiday Spirit Days by dressing up for each themed day. It’s a great way to spread cheer, show creativity, and enjoy the season together.
Keep an eye on the schedule and join us in making MCE merry and bright! 💙🐾
🎩 Hat Days at MCE: Wednesday, December 3rd & 17th
On Wednesday, December 3 and Wednesday, December 17, students are invited to bring $1 and wear a hat all day.
The money collected will go toward a charity of the Student Council’s choosing, which will be determined for the 2025–26 school year. This is a fun way for students to give back while showing their school spirit!
In School: December 15th
We will be following a Friday specials schedule.
Holiday Concert: December 16th
🎉🎄 Holiday Celebrations 🎄🎉
Wildcat families, as we head into the holiday season, our teachers will be hosting classroom holiday parties. Each class celebrates a little differently, so your child’s teacher may reach out asking for supplies, treats, or small items to help make the day special. Watch your child's classroom newsletter for more details.
Thank you for your continued support and for helping us create joyful memories for our students! 💙🐾
