PBIS Ticket Winners
Students are recognized for making respectful, responsible, and safe choices. Part of that recognition process is that students receive a Pride Ticket. Part of the ticket goes home to families. The second half of the ticket goes in a grade level bin. Each Monday tickets are chosen at random from those bins to select the weekly winner from each grade level. Congratulations to our weekly winners and all students who have earned a ticket so far this year.
Highlights from around Core Creek
Spirit Days
Students and staff particpated in Pink Out and Eagles Day.
Mission to Read Celebration
Core Creek students were on a “Mission to Read” this summer! Over 70 students completed 900 minutes of reading each. Mrs. Gross and Ms. Gulden, celebrated the students’ success by hosting a “Glow in the Dark” themed party. During WIN, students enjoyed playing Space Bingo in a room with black lights, disco lights, neon decorations, and prizes. Many students even wore white or neon for this fun theme. We would like to thank the PTO for sponsoring a coupon to shop at the school store to each of our readers.
Trunk-or-Treat
Thank you to our PTO for a great night! Thank you to the families who decorated a trunk. Thank you to the teachers and all volunteers. Everyone's time, effort, and dedication to helping make the night a success is appreciated!
Halloween Parade
We are excited to celebrate Halloween with our first annual Halloween Parade on Friday, October 31st! Students will have the opportunity to show off their creative costumes as they parade around the school. Families are welcome to attend and cheer for our students!
Parade Schedule:
-
1:20–1:30 PM: Second Grade
-
1:35–1:45 PM: Kindergarten
-
1:50–2:00 PM: Third Grade
-
2:05–2:15 PM: Fourth Grade
-
2:20–2:30 PM: First Grade
Parade Details & Guidelines:
-
The parade will take place outside on the back playground (weather permitting). If the weather does not cooperate, the parade will take place inside for students and staff only.
-
Families may view the parade from the designated viewing areas, please see attached map.
-
Parking will be very limited. We strongly encourage carpooling or walking to school, if possible. I will work with our team to see if we can livestream the event.
-
Students should wear their base costume to school and add final costume pieces closer to parade time. Please send additional items in a bag with your child's name on it.
-
Please ensure costumes are school-appropriate:
Costumes should be age appropriate and follow dress code policies.
-
No masks that fully cover the face.
-
No accessories that resemble weapons or blood (swords, guns, etc.).
-
We encourage no inflatable (“blow-up”) costumes, as they can limit movement and visibility.
-
Costumes should allow students to move safely and use the restroom independently.
-
Classroom celebrations will occur at the teacher's discretion. Your child’s teacher will share specific details. All classroom parties will be a "party in a bag" style, which means students will bring in their own food. No sharing of food will be permitted.
Students are encouraged to stay in school after the parade to participate in classroom activities, however if families would like to sign their child out after the parade, they will need to do so at the main office after 2:45 p.m. once all students are safely back in their classrooms.
All cars will need to leave immediately after the parade due to Maple Point's dismissal.
For families who do not want their child to participate in the parade, we will have an alternate activity during parade time. Please email your child's teacher to opt your child out.
We look forward to a fun and festive afternoon celebrating as a community! Thank you for helping us make this a safe and enjoyable event for everyone.
Core Creek Mascot
Help Us Pick Our New School Mascot!
We have some exciting news! Core Creek needs a mascot — a special character that shows our school spirit, pride, and teamwork.
Students, we need your ideas! What animal or character do you think shows what makes our school awesome? Maybe something brave, kind, creative, or full of energy — it’s up to you!
Here’s how to share your idea:
-
Turn in your mascot idea by October 31st.
-
Tell us why you think it’s a great fit for our school.

Car Line Procedures
Thanks to a few updates and your continued cooperation, our afternoon car line process has improved in both efficiency and timing!
Here’s what’s new:
-
We are now able to send four lines of students out at the start of car line.
-
This allows us to move about 40 cars through within the first few minutes.
-
After that, we bring up the next group of 20+ cars, helping keep the flow steady and safe.
-
New car placards with student QR codes were recently sent home — a big thank-you to our IT Department for their help! These QR codes allow our team to quickly record which students are being picked up, saving valuable time each afternoon.
Schedule reminders:
-
The instructional day ends at 3:35 p.m.
-
The first call for car line dismissal begins around 3:38 p.m.
-
All cars typically clear the line around 3:50 p.m.
- We dismiss approximately 80 students each day in car line.
Positives we’ve already seen:
We’ve eliminated the large crowd of adults waiting a few feet outside our main doors.
Our front doors remain locked and secured throughout dismissal.
We have greater accountability for which students are leaving through the car line each day.
By using the placards, we can visually identify that the driver is a parent, guardian, or trusted friend/family member, adding another layer of safety.
Additional reminders:
-
Students are lined up in order of the cars.
-
While waiting, students are not expected to sit silently—we encourage respectful conversation and a calm, safe atmosphere while they wait to be called.
Please stay in your lane when leaving car line.
Thank you for your continued patience and partnership in getting our new dismissal process smooth and more efficient. A heartfelt thank-you to the families who have reached out with ideas and positive feedback. It truly takes all of us working together to help make a new procedure successful, and your support makes a meaningful difference.
If you are interested in meeting to share an idea for car line, please complete the Google Form below. The Form will close on 10/27. A meeting will be scheduled for those who are interested.
Thank you for your support!
