Welcome to the BHS Express
A newsletter keeping you informed about Batavia High School
Hello Bulldog Families.
We hope your students enjoyed the beautiful day on Tuesday. Sometimes, our students’ days off are rainy and dreary, so we consider it a bonus when we can sneak in a beautiful sunny day in November!
While your students were off school, our staff spent the day in professional learning with staff members from other schools throughout the county. This truly is a valuable experience for educators as they get to collaborate around some of the best techniques to reach all of our learners.
This newsletter is full of several photos from all of the dress up fun last Friday as well as a congratulatory message for BHS junior Cross Country Runner, Levi Sorg. Levi will be competing at the state Cross Country meet in Columbus tomorrow. The BHS family sincerely wishes Levi the best. What an accomplishment!
This weekend is full of campus activity as our Theatre Department will be hosting Taste of the Stage and the Batavia Rotary Club will be hosting their Spaghetti dinner at the elementary school on Saturday. Feel free to come support all of these wonderful activities if you are available!
We hope you all have a fantastic weekend, and we look forward to welcoming our BHS students back on Monday for our final two weeks before Thanksgiving break.
In service to our Bulldogs.

Hello, Families.
I hope everyone had a nice day off this past week on Tuesday. The weather was definitely a nice fall day before the rain set in on Wednesday.
We are starting to see an increase in morning tardies this time of year. Please help us remind the student drivers to plan for the mornings based on the weather that day.
Students that want to purchase a parking pass can do so. If your student driver earns their driver’s license, please have them come see me.
Thank you,
Joe Moorehead, Dean of Students

The FAFSA Application opened October 1!!!!
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for students entering or attending college for the 2027-28 academic year is up and running! Any student that is thinking about attending any type of education/training after high school should complete the FAFSA - technical school, trade school, community college, public university, or private university. The FAFSA is what determines your eligibility for student loans, grants, work-study, and scholarships - thus, it is VERY important that you complete and submit it. Keep in mind, all students are eligible for student loans! We will continue to share information and helpful resources with you and your family as we receive it!
The Ohio Department of Higher Education would like to share that the 2027-28 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available for all families to complete. Families who want to start filling out the FAFSA now can start the process at studentaid.gov.
For additional assistance with FAFSA completion, please visit itsforyou.org.
