Coffee with Principal/ELAC

Date Correction: Coffee with Principal/ELAC B-8

Join us Wednesday, November 4 at 8:00 a.m. for a special morning of connection and conversation!

Let’s Connect and Learn Together!

We are inviting our STEAM and Spanish Immersion families to participate in deeper conversations about their experiences at Gage. Ideally, we hope to have two parent representatives from each grade level within each instructional program.

By Tuesday afternoon, families will receive a Google Form to express their interest in participating.

These conversations will give us an opportunity to listen, share perspectives, and better understand our families’ experiences, needs, and hopes for Gage. By learning from one another, we can continue strengthening our school community and making sure every family feels welcomed, heard, and valued.

Polite Reminders

Running Club and Playground Access

The playgrounds are closed during morning Running Club. Please come and enjoy Running Club and be mindful not to use the play areas. Thank you!

Independent Study Contract Reminder

We have had an unusually high number of students participate in Independent Study Contracts this school year. So far, we have had 47 contracts—and it’s only October!

While we appreciate the effort students and families make to complete missed assignments, regular school attendance is important for student success. Being present allows students to receive direct instruction from their teachers, participate in classroom activities and discussions, and stay on track with their learning.

Whenever possible, we ask that family vacations and other planned absences be scheduled during our regular school breaks.

If your child will be absent for three or more consecutive school days and you need an Independent Study Contract, please notify both the front office and your child’s teacher at least one week prior to the absence. This advance notice allows teachers adequate time to prepare assignments and materials.

Thank you for your continued support in helping your child maintain consistent attendance and stay engaged in learning.

Musical Instruments

To reduce classroom interruptions and encourage student responsibility, the front office will no longer call students to the office when a forgotten musical instrument is dropped off.

Instead, students will be responsible for checking with the front office to see if their instrument has been dropped off.

This is a great opportunity for students to practice responsibility and develop the independence they will need as they transition to middle school.

Thank you for your understanding and support!

Dropping Off Items

Our mornings are especially busy as students arrive and get settled for the day. We ask families to help students remember their lunch boxes, water bottles, and other needed items before coming to school. If an item is brought to the office after the school day begins, we will do our best to get it to your child, but we cannot guarantee delivery. These interruptions can also take time away from classroom instruction, so we appreciate your help in protecting that important learning time.

Got Snacks?

We are looking for donations of healthy, peanut- and nut-free snacks for students who may forget or not bring a snack to school. If you are able to help, please bring individually packaged snacks to the front office. Thank you for helping make sure all of our Gators have a snack when they need one!

From Huevos to Frogs in Maestra Baker’s Class!

Students in Maestra Baker’s class dove into the fascinating life cycle of a frog, exploring each stage from eggs to tadpoles (renacuajos) to adult frogs! As they learned about metamorphosis, students impressed us with their ability to use academic vocabulary to describe and explain each stage of development. It was wonderful to see them confidently using new scientific terms in their discussions and sharing their learning in Spanish!

Spooky Creativity in Ms. Randall’s Class!

Things are getting delightfully spooky in Ms. Randall’s class! Inspired by the imaginative and wonderfully eerie world of Tim Burton, students created artwork featuring whimsical characters, dramatic details, and a touch of Halloween magic. Their unique creations showcase the power of artistic expression and the creativity that comes from thinking outside the box. We love seeing our Gators bring their imaginations to life!
