Today is Senior Day. Swing by for a tailgate (more information below) and to celebrate our graduating seniors!

This Week in Baseball!

Varsity:

Yotes Varsity Baseball went 2-1 last week, with several notable performances.

  • Monday v. Denver South: In a 9-5 victory, Charlie Pearce (Senior) did as much damage as you can do, delivering a momentum changing GRAND SLAM (pictured.) Pearce went 1 for 3 on the day with those 4 RBI and struck out 11 on the mound.
  • Tuesday the Yotes dropped a tough defensive battle to Silver Creek. Sophomore Brody Montemayor was lights out on the mound. Montemayor went five innings, giving up just one hit and striking out eight.
  • Saturday versus Centaurus was all about pitching in an effort to spoil Centaurus' playoff hopes. Senior Evan DiCarlo went six innings, giving up one run and striking out five. Pearce came in to slam the door shut in the 7th for a 2-1 Yotes victory!

Junior Varsity:

The JV squad went 3-0 to close out what may have been the best JV team to date. The team closed out the season 15-2-1.

  • Monday: The Yotes walked off Denver South on a single by Junior Kaden Costello. Costello went 2-4 on the day with the big hit to end the game.
  • Tuesday: Bryson Venne, Junior, led the way on the mound. Venne tossed four innings of shutout baseball, giving up four hits and striking out three. Venne was helped by solid defense, as the Yotes made no errors on the day.
  • Saturday: JV slammed the door shut on their successful season with a 12-4 win over Poudre. Carter Kalkofen, Sophomore, filled up the box score, going 3-3 with a single, double, triple, walk, stolen base, and two RBI. Sophomore Oliver Baggett also had a big day at the dish, going 2-2 with two doubles and four RBI.
