Dear Academy Families and Friends,

Last week may have started out cold and chilly, but the weather got better just in time for all of our outdoor events...let's hope we have that same luck this upcoming Friday for the Fun Run!!! It's going to be great! Thank you for all of the support!

Short and sweet this week, I want to remind all families that tomorrow morning, we are adjusting the morning routines. Students will be able to enter the building at 8:50AM directly skipping line ups. Also, top lot parking and the school driveway will close at 8:55AM. Please give yourself extra time in the morning to adapt to these minor shifts.

Topic: New Graduation Requirements for Special Education Students

Please join us and Student Services Director Meg Verlicco, Psy.D. as we discuss how the change in MCAS graduation requirements impacts students and what it means for transition planning moving forward.

We will close the meeting with a caregiver support session, offering families a chance to connect, share experiences, and ask questions in a supportive space.

We appreciate your continued support in helping us reach and engage caregivers across the district.

Fun Run is this Friday! We hit $20,000...looking to break the $25,000 mark! Outstanding job all! The Fun Run Faires visited this past Friday and students in grades 2 & K had the most spirit, wearing their team colors!

Attendance plays a big role in a student's learning & achievement in school. Being here every day is important. Check out our interactive daily attendance board...Grade 3 and Grade 4 are tied with 4 stars.

The Dreamcatcher is back for its 33rd year on November 27, 2025! Register before October 8 using promo code whsathletics25 to save $5 on the registration fee.

Effective October 20th, morning routines will change slightly. Doors will be open at 8:50AM and students will be able to walk directly into the school building, eliminating morning line ups outside of the doors 7, 10, and 19. This will allow students more time in the morning to get settled in. Also, we will be shifting the top lot parking lot time by 5 mins, closing at 8:55AM to help get cars unloaded and back out to the Avenue by 9AM. Flyers will be coming out this week as a reminder. There will not be any changes to the PM Top Lot Parking Procedures.

It’s an honor to start working with the Weymouth Public School system as a School Resource

Officer. I welcome the challenge of working alongside the school administrators, staff, parents

and most importantly the students who will eventually become our successors.

I bring 29 years of service as a Police Officer to the School Resource Officer Unit and will use

this knowledge to foster a positive working relationship with the school community. As well as

apply community-oriented policing practices in an effort to become more effective in promoting

and strengthening school safety.
