Message from Principal Muñoz
Fall Fest is Almost Here!
Dear Las Palmas Families,
We are excited for our upcoming Fall Fest, led by our amazing PTA! As we prepare for this special event, we want to thank all of our families for the incredible support you have already shown this school year.
From supporting classroom teachers and school events to volunteering your time and resources, your partnership continues to make a positive impact on our campus. As we launch our first-ever Fall Fest for our girls, we are grateful for the enthusiasm and commitment that our families have shown in helping bring this event to life.
Parent engagement remains one of the greatest strengths of our school community. When families, teachers, and students work together, we create experiences that strengthen relationships, build school pride, and create lasting memories for our leaders.
We hope you will join us for an evening of fun, fellowship, and celebration as we come together as one Las Palmas family. Thank you for all you do to support our students, staff, and school community.
Your involvement helps make Las Palmas a place where our leaders can learn, lead, and thrive. We look forward to celebrating with you at Fall Fest! 💛 👑🍂

Thank a Staff Member
As we celebrate our amazing teachers and staff, we invite families to take a moment to recognize a staff member who has made a difference in your child's school experience. Use the link below to submit a Thank You message to a Las Palmas staff member. Simply complete the form with the name of the employee and a few words of appreciation from you and your child. A special certificate will be generated and presented to the staff member in recognition of their impact. This opportunity will be available throughout the school year, so we encourage you to help us celebrate the dedicated educators and staff who support our students every day! A few words of gratitude can make a big difference. Thank you for helping us recognize our outstanding Las Palmas team!
Leading and Learning the IB Way
Our Leaders Make Time to Celebrate Reading
We are excited to celebrate literacy in a fun and memorable way with our Book Character Parade this Friday! This special event gives our leaders the opportunity to bring their favorite books and characters to life by dressing as characters they have read about and enjoyed. By connecting reading to a creative and engaging experience, students can deepen their appreciation for literature and strengthen the connections they make between stories, characters, and themes explored in the classroom.
The Book Character Parade also supports our work as an IB World School by encouraging students to be KNOWLEDGEABLE, COMMUNICATORS, and RISK-TAKERS. As students share their characters and discuss the books they represent, they practice communicating ideas, making connections to their learning, and celebrating a variety of perspectives and experiences found in literature. These experiences help reinforce reading lessons while fostering a school-wide culture that values curiosity and a love of learning.
Families play an important role in supporting literacy growth at home. One of the best ways to reinforce the reading skills students practice at school is by ensuring they read at home for at least 20 minutes each night. Daily reading strengthens vocabulary, comprehension, fluency, and critical thinking skills while helping students develop lifelong reading habits. We look forward to seeing our leaders showcase their favorite book characters and celebrate the joy of reading together!

This week during elementary guidance, students continued talking about Bullying, Kindness and appreciating our own uniqueness. We identified ways to treat people who are different and recognized how differences make individuals and communities stronger.
The students listened to "Spookley the Square Pumpkin" by Joe Troiano which follows a little pumpkin who is teased for his shape. The students shared with their neighbors a time they felt different from others. The classes then colored and decorated a pumpkin highlighting their uniqueness.
