LAJH Tiger Talk
Connecting Parents and School
Welcome to the 2026 - 2027 School Year
Dear Tiger Families,
Every August brings a fresh start, new possibilities, and the excitement of watching our students grow. Whether you are returning to our Tiger family or joining us for the first time, we are excited to welcome you and look forward to partnering with you to make this an incredible year for every student.
I am proud to share that Lake Asbury Junior High has once again earned an A school grade from the Florida Department of Education. While our school is about much more than a letter grade, this recognition reflects the hard work of our students, the support of our families, and the dedication of our faculty and staff. Most importantly, it reflects our shared commitment to doing what is best for students every day.
At LAJ, we believe every student deserves to feel seen, valued, and connected. Our motto, "Where We All Belong," guides our commitment to creating a safe, supportive environment where students can learn, grow, and build meaningful relationships.
As our campus continues to grow, we appreciate your patience as everyone adjusts to arrival and dismissal procedures, lunch schedules, and the ongoing road construction surrounding our campus. Please know that students will not be marked tardy because of road construction or district transportation delays during this transition. Our priority is ensuring every student arrives safely and that each school day begins smoothly.
Thank you for entrusting us with your child's education. Student success is strongest when schools and families work together, and we are grateful for your partnership. Please stay connected through Tiger Talk, our social media pages, and school events throughout the year.
We look forward to an outstanding school year. Go Get 'Em, Tigers!
Respectfully,
Mrs. Lydia Creel
Principal

We do not accept any food deliveries at any time. If you would like to drop off food, of course you may do so, but it must be dropped off in the front office and hand delivered to your student at their designated lunch time. If you wish to sign in the main office and eat with your child, you and your child may dine at our outdoor tables. Additionally, we do not handle cash at any time. Should you need to drop off money to a student, we will call your child out of class so that you may deliver it to them personally. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
Inclement Weather Dismissals
During the first few months of school and occasionally throughout the school year, we experience weather events which include lightening, especially in our area. When this occurs around dismissal time, we find that we must delay dismissal and hold students under safe shelter. Should we ever need to delay dismissal for student safety, we will always send a robocall home. Please understand that while we try to give an early heads up, sometimes lightning happens at the last minute...and if lightning is close enough, we cannot release students. Safety will always be our top priority on campus - all day, everyday - no exceptions.
Travel by EF Tours - please note these are offered independent of the CCSD
