Happy New Year LCS Families! I hope everyone had a relaxing time off and was able to spend quality time with friends and family. Most of all we hope everyone stayed healthy! While it was disappointing to have to cancel school the day before our holiday break (especially on Pajama Day!) we feel we made the safest decision. Once the snow started it came down fast! As it is now snow and ice season and our full-time bus driver is on maternity leave, multiple trips with our van and SUV on days when we do not have the bus available do play a role in our decision making. I will continue to get the transportation schedule out to families as soon as it is available to me!
I want to thank everyone who attended our Holiday Concert and helped to make this a positive experience for our children. To see them glowing on stage and getting into the holiday spirit was wonderful! I want to thank Mr. Tim, Ms. Lipkin and Mrs. Bailey for all of their hard work in preparing our students for their performance. I also want to thank our staff who attended voluntarily and sat with our students to ensure their contribution as audience members gave those on stage the attention they deserve. While we tried something new this year in response to previous year's feedback we are always looking for ways to improve. If you would like to provide feedback on this year's concert please click HERE.
As a new year begins we have many new adventures coming our way! To start, we have hired Jasmine Gleason to be our third grade teacher! Ms. Gleason will start immediately following the holiday break and Ms. Fontaine and Ms. Miller will remain in the classroom for parts of the day to support students in their transition to a new teacher. Ms. Gleason grew up and lives locally. We could not be happier about her choosing to join our community! In other news, Ski Club begins on our first day back and a new session of Miner Memorial Library Club begins on January 7th! If you have not signed your student up for the next session of library club please click here. This will be a busy week back!
