NO SCHOOL NOVEMBER 24 - 28 / THANKSGIVING BREAK
A Message from the Williston Schools Leadership Team
by Greg Marino, Williston Schools Lead Principal
It is absolutely difficult to believe we have arrived at the Thanksgiving break! Though not all of our families celebrate Thanksgiving, it feels like an appropriate opportunity to express sincere gratitude and appreciation for this Williston learning community,
Just a few hours ago, I had the great privilege of joining Ms. Stewart’s 3rd-4th grade class as they sat down to enjoy the "Stone Soup" they had made. The story and tradition of Stone Soup teaches a powerful lesson. Each member of the community brings an element that becomes part of the soup, which then provides nourishment for all. The resulting whole is always greater than the sum of its individual parts. This message of a community nourishing itself in this communal way was driven home by the long family-style table that was created by pushing all of the students’ desks together.
What a powerful metaphor for our Williston Schools community. Each of us - our incredible students, our dedicated faculty and staff, and our committed caregivers and families - is an essential ingredient in the learning community we are nourishing together.
Thank you for being part of this amazing “soup”. Thank you for the uniqueness that you bring to this recipe. We know that the journey isn't always smooth, and we certainly experience challenges as we strive to fulfill our shared commitment to: Take Care of ourselves, take care of each other, and take care of this space - but perhaps this is the spice that any good recipe needs.
On behalf of the Leadership Team, we wish you a peaceful and restful break, and hopefully the chance to enjoy a few favorite recipes of your own!

Williston Schools Visual Arts
WCS 5th-8th grade artists take the Wildcat Way to the next level!
Middle school students in their most recent art rotation learned about visual texture, value techniques, the grid method, and advocacy. Students learned about the local non-profit organization Queen City Cats and then drew portraits of adoptable cats and kittens looking for homes. And some artist work was even selected to go in an art show at the Queen City Cat lounge (pictured). The real-world connection was a purrfect way to explore concepts and media as they built proficiency!
Congratulations to the following students whose artwork was selected to go up at the Queen City Cat Lounge art show:
- Lauren Beaumier - Langdon Brooks - George Clauss - Jayden Clodgoe - Caera Crosby - Dani D’Agostino - Mathias Escorpizo - Sofia Kvam - Maxwell Hornus - Ava Lintner - Alexiah Many - Piper Meservey - Matt Niquette - Charlotte Pratt - Vlad Rosca - Richard Rosenfeld - Wesley Scott - Ella Smart - Katherine Vinci - Olivia Wilson -
