Level Up Day & ASVAB- October 6, 2026
At John Handley High School, we are committed to preparing students for graduation and the opportunities that come next. On Tuesday, October 6, 2026, all students will participate in Level Up Day, a schoolwide experience focused on college, career, and life readiness.
Each grade level will participate in activities designed for their stage of high school:
● 9th Grade – Personal Branding: Identifying strengths, skills, interests, and experiences that contribute to a personal brand.
● 10th Grade – PSAT: Building academic and postsecondary readiness.
● 11th Grade – ASVAB Career Exploration Program & Game of Life: Exploring individual strengths and career possibilities, followed by an interactive career and financial simulation.
● 12th Grade – Adulting: Developing practical skills and knowledge for the transition from high school to adulthood.
Important for Junior Families: All juniors will participate in the ASVAB Career Exploration Program beginning at 8:30 a.m. ASVAB results will be used for career exploration and school counseling and will not be shared with the military.
Students with an IEP or 504 Plan who would like to use accommodations must opt in, as accommodations require a paper-based assessment and if a student later chooses to use ASVAB scores for military enlistment, the official enlistment ASVAB cannot be taken using school-based accommodations. Families should contact Katie Lockhart by September 30 to request accommodations.
