Dear Families,

Christmas invites us to pause and reflect on the extraordinary gift of God’s love, revealed to us through the birth of His Son, Jesus Christ. It is a sacred season that calls us to renew our faith, rejoice in community, and live out Christ’s message of love and service.

At St. Michael’s School, we are continually blessed by the presence of Christ reflected in our students. Their joy in learning, compassion for others, and spirit of generosity are beautiful reminders of the hope and peace that the Christmas season brings. During this holy time, I encourage you to gather as families to pray, reflect, and recognize God’s presence in your lives. Whether by attending Mass, sharing the Nativity story, or extending kindness to those in need, these moments help deepen the true meaning of Christmas for our children and for ourselves.

As is tradition here at St. Michael's School, we will end the term on Friday, December 19th with Mass at 9 AM, followed by a Carol Singing assembly in the gym at 10:30 AM. Families are welcome to attend! Dismissal will take place immediately after the assembly. All students must be picked up by 12 PM as supervision ends at this time.

As we approach the end of term, we want to return as many items to their owners as possible! Our Lost and Found items have been placed at the front entrance of the school. Please take a few moments to look for any items that belong to your child. Any items not picked up by Friday December 19th at dismissal will be donated to our used uniform store or to local charities in need.

To prepare for the joyful coming of Christ at Christmas, it is essential to take the time to prepare our hearts through prayer and seek the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Below you will find a link to St. Michael's Parish Christmas Mass schedule and local penitential services.

Hot lunch ordering for the winter term starts on Friday, December 5, and continues until Friday, December 26. Order early so you don’t forget and miss the deadline.

Please ensure your order is placed and paid for online before the deadline. Orders can be made at sme.hotlunches.net. Unpaid orders will not be processed until payment is received and will be removed from the system after the deadline. Please be aware that only CREDIT CARD payments are accepted. We ask that you do not leave cash or cheques at the school’s office, nor send them to your children's classrooms. No late orders, changes or cancellations. Please note the Hot Lunch program now has its own e-mail address. You can contact our team at hotlunch@smeschool.ca .

As we near the end of term, please be sure to submit your hours on the Parent Participation Portal. Please also note that all families are required to complete a minimum of 20 hours by the end of February.
