-
Donate snacks, drinks, or supplies for the staff lounge.
-
Coordinate with other parents to bring in breakfast or lunch one day.
-
Share a message of appreciation on social media and tag the school.
No gesture is too small—let’s make sure our teachers feel valued and appreciated all week long!

SUMMER OPPORTUNITIES
Hi everyone,
We’re excited to share two amazing summer camp opportunities! Check out the attached flyers for full details and registration links.
GenCyber
Join us for a free, hands-on cybersecurity camp across four Arkansas locations, plus an online option! Supported by the NSA, NSF, and other federal partners, this camp offers engaging activities, T-shirts, snacks, and an end-of-camp competition. It’s a fantastic opportunity for rising 7th–12th graders to learn about cybersecurity.
Robotics Camp
If you love robots and coding, this camp is for you! Choose between two exciting sessions: VEX IQ for grades 5–8 or VEX V5 for grades 7–12. At $150 per participant, you'll experience hands-on robot building, programming challenges, and a fun end-of-week competition—all with T-shirts and snacks provided.
We can’t wait to see you this summer for a season of learning, creativity, and fun!
Best regards,
Sandra

THE YELLOWJACKET WAY
As we continue into the second semester, help us to encourage students to follow the Yellowjacket Way behavior matrix. We want all students to be successful, and following the three principles of the Yellowjacket way will help them achieve that. A link to the full matrix can be found at the bottom of the newsletter.

CKH WORD OF THE MONTH ~ INTEGRITY
What is Integrity?
Integrity is the ability and willingness to live with honesty and excellence. People who act with integrity make a choice to do the right thing, no matter who is watching. Integrity is the foundation on which we build relationships and trust.
Why focus on Integrity?
- Integrity encourages self-assessment. Integrity requires our regular self-assessment to align behaviors with our goals and self-beliefs.
REMINDERS
Badge Policy
All students are required to wear their badges front and center at all times. If you do not have your badge upon arrival at school you will be asked to 1. call a parent to bring your badge from home, 2. purchase a new badge, or 3. receive consequences including d-hall. If a student chooses to remove their badge throughout the day they are subject to the same consequences as above.
Dress Code
While we encourage you to be comfortable, please remember that wearing pajamas, house shoes, and headwear is not permitted under our dress code. Be mindful of your attire choices to avoid any dress code violations.
Cell Phone
All electronic devices including cell phones and earbuds must be powered down and put in backpacks away from your person upon arrival at SMS. These devices must stay put away for the duration of the school day.
