Any and all donations are greatly appreciated to celebrate this special day for the pupils. Please send in your donations to the school on the day before or the day of the ceremony. Thank you for your generosity!

PANCAKES/BATTER DONATIONS
To help with a quicker turnaround on the day, we would really appreciate if some parents could pre-make pancakes at home and send them into school Tuesday morning if possible (simple recipe below for anyone who wishes to use it).
Equally, if anyone would like to donate some batter, please make it up and pop it into a plastic 2L or 1L milk container. This makes for easier pouring & making of the pancakes on the day.
We would kindly ask for you NOT to send in the bottles of pancake mix as they are really hard to use and do not mix well (photo attached for reference).
🙏Thank you all so much in advance for your generosity and support for this event 😊
Grandparents Day
On Friday 7th February, the school was filled with excitement as the Junior and Senior Infants welcomed their grandparents for a prayer service, followed by a lovely time enjoying tea and treats together! A heartfelt thank you to all the grandparents and parents who joined us on this special day! Photos of this special day can be found on the school website here.
Ceremony of Light
Well done to the 6th Class pupils who took part in the Ceremony of Light Mass held at Dangan Church last week. Ms Fitzgerald was singing your praises! The boys and girls will be making their Confirmation next week and I would like to wish them all the best in their final preparations for this special celebration.
The Daily Mile Initiative
Our 4th and 5th class students have eagerly embraced The Daily Mile, and their enthusiasm is incredible—even on the wettest days! Here’s why this simple but powerful initiative is so beneficial:
- Boosts Physical & Mental Health – Helps improve fitness, focus, and overall well-being.
- Enhances Learning – Short bursts of activity have been shown to improve concentration in the classroom.
- Encourages Resilience & Determination – No matter the weather, the children are showing amazing perseverance.
- Builds Social Skills – A fun and inclusive way for children to chat and connect while staying active. If you're interested in reading more about the benefits of movement for children just click here!
Please send in rain jackets so the children can keep enjoying this fantastic initiative—after all, in Ireland, a little rain won’t stop us! ☔👟 A huge thank you to Mr. Kelly and Ms. Mollison for leading this initiative 🎉👏
Friendship Week 26th February - 1st March
In a fortnight's time, we will be celebrating Friendship Week at Dangan. We have lots of class and whole school activities planned with the main emphasis on Respect, Kindness, Inclusion and Friendship.
Although these values are central to our daily school culture, during Friendship Week will focus on all these important elements throughout the entirety of the school day.
Our Lotto Fundraiser - Raising funds to purchase Sensory Pods for Dangan Pupils
- Sensory pods provide a calming, safe space for children who may feel overwhelmed, helping them self-regulate and focus better in the classroom. They are especially beneficial for students with sensory processing needs, anxiety, or additional learning needs, promoting inclusion and well-being.
Please sign up to support this important initiative for our students! You can sign up to our lotto at here.
