Hawk News12/6/2024Hendrickson High School

Message from Principal Grebb:

The semester is quickly coming to a close, with just two weeks remaining. Mid-terms are right around the corner, starting next week, so let’s finish strong. The Fine Arts Department has an exciting lineup of holiday performances you won’t want to miss. It all kicks off tonight with Elf Jr. The Musical, with an encore performance on Saturday night. On Tuesday, the Hendrickson Choir will take the stage for a festive evening of music. Next Monday, the Hawk Band will host their Winter Concert. Don’t miss the chance to see our talented students. A huge shoutout to Hawk Cheer for their incredible victory at the Fall Classic in San Antonio over the break. They’ll be heading back to UIL State in January for the first time since 2017. For the last two school weeks of 2024, remember to:

The Anonymous Alerts is an anti-bullying and safety app reporting system that helps combat bullying and other negative activity in schools by empowering students to speak up. Social and peer pressure are some of the hardest obstacles for students to overcome. Students or parents can submit reports such as bullying, cyber bullying, depression, dating violence, drug or alcohol use, threats against the school, weapons on campus, and more.

The system allows for 1-way or 2-way anonymous encrypted communications between the submitters (students, parents, or community members) and District administration and/or school staff. Users of the system have the option to remain anonymous or reveal their identity when submitting a report.

Grades 9-11 Guidance Meeting 6 PM PAC 12/11/2024 Grades 9-11 Guidance Meeting 6 PM PAC 12/11/2024

The HHS Counseling Team invites you to an engaging one-hour presentation on Wednesday, December 11th, at 6:00 PM in the HHS Performing Arts Center (PAC). This event is designed to provide valuable insights and guidance for freshman, sophomore, and junior students as they plan their high school journey and prepare for the year ahead. Students and parents are encouraged to attend.

We’ll cover essential topics, including:

Graduation requirements and endorsements
GPA and its impact on college and career goals
Advanced academic options and opportunities
This is a wonderful opportunity to learn how you can support your student in their course selection goals and make the most out of their high school experience. If you are a parent of a sophomore, the counselors are currently going over course selection with them now. If students want to change their course selection they can reach out to their counselor before Spring Break. Counselors will be meeting with freshman and juniors in January and February.

Below is a link to the steps to log on to SchooLinks - this is the program that your students are using to pick their classes and map out their 4 year course plan.
