Timber Talks
River Mill Elementary - May 23rd
Dear River Mill Families,
It was wonderful to see all of our students' smiling faces back after May Break! With just three full weeks of school remaining, we’re excited to finish the year strong and make the most of every moment to support continued learning and growth.
There’s still so much to accomplish, and your child is continuing to learn important new content each day. Please help us by prioritizing consistent, on-time attendance—it makes a big difference in your child’s success. Let’s make these final weeks count!
Important Reminder for Next Week:
There will be no school on Monday in observance of the Memorial Day holiday. As a result, Friday will be a full school day for all students. Please plan accordingly, and thank you for your support!

River Mill Elementary Career Fair 2025
Presenters Needed!
River Mill Elementary is excited to offer our sixth annual school-wide career fair. The career fair is scheduled for the morning of Tuesday, June 3rd from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
We are looking for presenters who are eager to share their career paths with students. As you know, one of our priorities at River Mill Elementary School is to equip every student with the skills necessary to become competent, resourceful, and successful. In order to support this goal we are requesting that our presenters share the following information:
How do you use reading, writing, and math skills (or other school subjects) on your job?
How do you use technology in your career field?
What type of education and training is needed for advancement into the career area?
Describe your job duties.
Describe a typical work day.
What talents and skills are necessary for success in your career field?
What personal traits are helpful in your career?
Each presenter will deliver 4-7 presentations for approximately 20 minutes each as they rotate to different classrooms. If you are willing to be a presenter, use the link below to complete the form.

Be On Time and Stay All Day
At River Mill, we want to ensure every student has the best opportunity to learn and grow each day. Recently, we’ve noticed an increase in tardies and early pick-ups, and we want to remind families how important it is for students to be at school on time and stay for the full day. Arriving late can cause students to miss important instruction, while leaving early means they may not get the full benefit of their learning time. Every minute in the classroom matters! We understand that occasional appointments and emergencies happen, but whenever possible, please schedule these outside of school hours. Thank you for your support in making sure your child gets the most out of their school day!
Attendance Matters
Did you know that many of our youngest students miss about 10% of the school year—around 14 days, or just two days a month? This level of chronic absenteeism in elementary school can predict lower test scores and challenges with retention in later grades. Every day and every minute of school matters, contributing to your child's growth and success! Please help us support your child's learning by ensuring they attend school every day and arrive on time. Thank you for partnering with us to build strong habits for lifelong learning!
