Irving Elementary Weekly Update
Week of November 10th
Principal Message
Irving Families,
Thank you to all the parents and guardians who came out for Parent-Teacher Conferences last week. We truly appreciate the time you take to connect with your child’s teacher. These conversations are such an important part of the partnership between home and school—working together helps us better understand each child’s strengths, challenges, and goals so we can support them in every way possible.
On Tuesday evening at 5:30 PM, Irving will be hosting an African American Parent Committee Meeting. We’ve invited families and staff from schools across the district to join us as we come together to collaborate on how we can continue improving our practices to ensure that every student feels a strong sense of belonging and acceptance at school. If you are interested in participating, please feel free to attend—we’d love to have your voice in the conversation.
This past Friday, our first and second graders celebrated with a K-Pop Demon Hunters Dance Party as part of our PBIS booster! These classes earned the celebration by showing great focus, teamwork, and positive classroom behavior. It was a fun way to recognize students for contributing to a respectful and productive learning environment.
Our PBIS Eagle Eye Cart continues to be another exciting part of our schoolwide expectations system. Students earn Eagle Eyes for following the Irving Way—being respectful, responsible, and safe—and can use them to shop for fun prizes. This system not only motivates students but also helps build the positive habits that make our school a welcoming and joyful place to learn.

Nico, Walter, and Bennett hard at work on their Concept Quests during MTSS time!
In first grade Bridges Math, Concept Quests give students a chance to practice and extend their understanding of key math ideas in fun, hands-on ways. These activities help build number sense, problem-solving skills, and confidence as students explore math concepts at their own pace.
Several first and second grade students smiling and enjoying the K-Pop Demon Hunters Dance Party! Classes earned this celebration by showing their golden behavior—staying focused, working together, and following the Irving Way. It was a fun reward for their positive classroom effort!
Students showing off their moves during Zumba Club!
Zumba Club is a fun way for students to stay active, build confidence, and start their day with great energy and smiles.
