Attendance
Hello CCSLHS Families
Changes to our Attendance Policy
Student attendance is crucial to academic success, and we greatly appreciate your efforts in ensuring that students are present during school hours. To support their education, we kindly ask that family vacations be scheduled outside of school days whenever possible.
Our goal is to maintain a 95% daily attendance rate for the year.
Seniors
Wednesday next week we will have some seniors to view Worcester State University. See your counselor for information.
A few reminders:
- Senior Dues are $250 to include prom, senior week activities, yearbook, hoodie, graduation costs, etc.
- If you are NOT going to prom, your dues reduce to $150.
- Fundraising will help go towards your dues; HOWEVER, we will not fundraise enough to cover all costs. At a minimum, plan to pay for your prom ticket ($100).
- If you have fundraising ideas, see Ms. Johnson or your class representatives.
- See Ms. Johnson, Mrs. Sokolski or Mr. Cameron if you have any questions or concerns about senior dues.
- Grad Bash deposit of $200 is due by Monday, December 1st. This is TWO weeks away – the Monday after Thanksgiving Break. Please see Mrs. Sokolski or Mr. Cameron if you feel you will have an issue meeting this deadline.
- After Christmas Break we will be fundraising to cover costs of meals while we are in Orlando.
- If you have fundraising ideas, see Ms. Johnson or your class representatives.

MAP testing-Week of Dec 8th
MAP Testing Week – December 8
The week of December 8, our students will participate in our tri-annual MAP testing. Please ensure your child comes to school with a fully charged Chromebook so they can do their best!
MAP testing helps us understand each student’s growth and learning needs. We receive results within 24 hours, which allows us to provide timely support. If a student needs extra help to stay on track, we may place them in an intensive class designed to strengthen their skills and boost confidence. This sometimes comes with a full change of their schedule. Students should be aware of this as they take the class.
Our goal is to make sure every student has what they need to succeed. Thank you for partnering with us to support your child’s learning journey!
On behalf of Mr. Torres and the Black Student Union (BSU)
We are aware of many students who want to contribute and bring food to the BSU's potluck on Tuesday, November 25th from 5-630PM. If you are interested in bringing food, please fill out this link: https://forms.gle/EhtzzmHKZrWQQ2Qm8
Staff and students are all welcome to join and enjoy amazing food before our Thanksgiving break.
Career Fair December 4th
On Dec 4th we will have over 60 Professionals in our school to talk about their jobs. Students can meet and chat with people in the fields they are interested in.
Acts of Kindness
There is a basked by Ms Carolina's door called " acts of kidness". I am introducing this to our students for them to do something kind to another student or adult during this Thanksgiving season. Stop on by and check it out.
