Congratulations to the October Students of the Month
LMS is thrilled to announce the October Students of the Month. Students are selected by teachers each month by subject area. These students adhere to the Cardinal Code of Respect, Readiness and Responsibility each day. They serve as role models for their peers and exhibit kindness throughout the school day. We are so proud of the first group of students. All of us at LMS look forward to watching these students continue to grow throughout the school year.

Mindful Screen Use for Resilient Kids and Families
On October 12, Nina Schroder, LCSW, founder of Digital Age Wellness, joined the district for a day of learning and conversation focused on mindful screen use and building resilience in children.
Schroder shared her expertise throughout the day, beginning with district administrators and counselors who support our youngest learners, followed by a faculty meeting with PreK–3 teachers and staff in the Lawrence High School Auditorium. The day concluded with an evening presentation for PreK–3 families, Reset: Mindful Screen Use for Resilient Kids and Families.
The presentations explored how excessive screen time can affect children, strategies for developing healthy screen habits, and ways families, schools and communities can work together to support children’s mental health and overall well-being.
From administrators and counselors to teachers, parents and caregivers, we are committed to learning alongside one another so we can provide consistent guidance and support for our students. As a district, along with our families, we are working toward a shared understanding of the challenges children face in today’s digital world and the ways we can help them navigate it.
When schools and families work as true partners, we can reinforce healthy habits, support one another and create a more united approach to student well-being. Together, we are building a community where our learners can develop the skills, resilience and healthy relationships they need to thrive.
As a follow to the program, we are pleased to share with you, a handful of important and relevant resources that you may consider useful. They are each attached and also pictured below.
