Happy March,
February was a fun filled month full of learning and adventure. The kindergarteners had a two day basketball camp where they were able to learn the basics of basketball. The club enjoyed the start of a cake club where they were able to decorate their own cakes as well as had a valentines party where they decorated cookies and created their own valentines for their classmates. We were able to go to the movies in Saguache and the ski club had a fun ski day. March is going to be another month of education and learning for the CVYC students with fun built in.
Spring is in the air and that means spring weather. On days that are nice we are hoping to be able to have the kids play outside more and do more outdoor activities so please ensure to have your children wear appropriate clothing and jackets. The club will be open for early release on March 6th and 7th and will be open until 7:00 during Parent Teacher Conference. The first day of spring this year is on March 20, 2024. We will enjoy the warm weather spring provides us.
These are the upcoming events and activities for the month of March for CVYC.
****On March 8th we will be going to the Buell Children's museum for a special exhibit called, "There's Snow Place Like Home."
****On March 15th we will be going bowling at the Monte Vista bowling alley.
****On March 18th we will be going swimming at the Hopper pool.
****March 29th we will be going Ice Skating at the Alamosa Rec Center.
CVYC will be open on March 18-19 during spring break but then will be closed the remainder of spring break.

Feliz marzo, Febrero fue un mes lleno de diversión, aprendizaje y aventuras. Los niños de kindergarten tuvieron un campamento de baloncesto de dos días donde pudieron aprender los conceptos básicos del baloncesto. El club disfrutó del inicio de un club de pasteles donde pudieron decorar sus propios pasteles y tuvieron una fiesta de San Valentín donde decoraron galletas y crearon sus propios regalos de San Valentín para sus compañeros de clase. Pudimos ir al cine en Saguache y el club de esquí pasó un divertido día de esquí. Marzo será otro mes de educación y aprendizaje para los estudiantes de CVYC con diversión incorporada.
La primavera está en el aire y eso significa un clima primaveral. En los días agradables, esperamos poder hacer que los niños jueguen más afuera y realicen más actividades al aire libre, así que asegúrese de que sus hijos usen ropa y chaquetas adecuadas. El club estará abierto para salida temprana el 6 y 7 de marzo y estará abierto hasta las 7:00 durante la conferencia de padres y maestros. CVYC estará abierto el 18 y 19 de marzo durante las vacaciones de primavera, pero luego estará cerrado durante el resto de las vacaciones de primavera.

Many activities are provided such as Art, crafts, science projects, Positive Action, dynamic activities in Triple Play, movies, field trips, ice skating, skiing, Pokémon, Chess Club, and much more. The Center Viking Youth Club is an after school program open Monday - Thursday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., and Friday from 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Search the Center Viking Youth Club web page and sign register your child today.
