PARKER WEEKLY BULLETIN

Good afternoon Parker Families,

We had a fun filled and busy week at Parker Middle School. The students are busy with culminating projects in their classes and enjoying the last few days of the school year together. We welcomed our incoming fifth grade students from the four elementary schools on Monday and Tuesday with guided tours and meeting the fifth-grade teachers and staff. On Wednesday our sixth grade students walked to McCarthy to be introduced to their new home next year. Dr. Parks and his staff planned a great welcome where our students could familiarize themselves with the building and get tours from current 7th graders who helped show them the ropes. The students came back excited for next year!

Special congratulations go to Eric Linsner and the Parker Band who put on a fabulous Spring concert on Thursday night. Over 200 students performed with passion and poise. It is amazing how much our students progressed this year under the guidance, passion, and expertise of Mr. Linsner and Mr. DeStefano.

Parker Field Day - Postponed until Monday June 9

We are excited to celebrate the great year at Parker by hosting a fun filled day of games. Our physical education staff has planned some great activities, but we are looking for some parent volunteers to help with the different games. The fifth grade festivities will run from 9-11 AM and the sixth grade will run from 12-2 PM.

Unfortunately, due to the inclement weather and risk of further thunderstorms in the afternoon we decided to postpone the event until Monday so as to keep our students and staff safe.

WE ARE PARKER - Wednesday, June 11 - 5-8 PM - SAVE THE DATE!!!!!
We are excited to announce a school wide community celebration to culminate our year at Parker Middle School on Wednesday June 11 from 5-8 PM. Working in conjunction with our Parker School Council made up of parents and staff members, we have planned a fun and family friendly event that will celebrate all of the wonderful strengths, interests, and personalities present in our community. There will be a variety of great activates that appeal to the diverse interests inherent in our school community including:

Wednesday, June 11th-"We Are Parker" Family Night - Badminton Tournament

Tuesday, June 17th-Last day of school - early dismissal at 11:10 a.m.

The lost and found racks are overflowing with your students stuff. Please have your student check for any lost or missing items. There are water bottles, sweatshirts, jackets, lunch boxes, sneakers, hats, and lots more. All unclaimed items will be donated or disposed of at the end of the school year. ~Thank you.

Please Send Email: Prior to 9am on the day of the absence. Please Include: Child’s name, Grade, and Reason for absence. We encourage you to use the email option when reporting an absence, dismissal, etc. for efficiency.

We will continue to send automated emails home when students are absent. You will receive the email whether you notified the school or not. In order for an absence to be marked as "Excused", families will need to provide medical documentation. 📅 PTO Meeting Join us next Thursday, June 12th @ 6:30 in the McCarthy library for our final PTO meeting of the school year! We will be voting on new Officers for the next year and hope you'll consider joining the board. We have lots of fun planning programs and events, together with the McCarthy PTO, for all middle school students.
