CHS
Meet the Principal
Hello Capital High School families and community!
My name is Lisa Vigil, and I am honored to serve as the new principal of Capital High School. From my very first year at CHS, I could feel the pride, energy, and warmth that make this school so special.
I believe schools thrive when we work together—students, staff, families, and community—toward a shared vision of excellence. My goal is to create a safe, inclusive, and inspiring environment where every student feels valued, challenged, and empowered to succeed.
This year, you can expect open communication, a listening ear, and a focus on both academic growth and social-emotional well-being. I can’t wait to support our students, cheer on their achievements, and celebrate the amazing things happening in our classrooms every day.
Here’s to a fantastic year ahead, filled with learning, laughter, and opportunities for our students to shine!
💙Lisa Vigil
Principal, Capital High School

Important Reminders for the Start of the School Year
School starts promptly at 8:35 AM, and morning traffic can back up—please plan to arrive early so students are in class on time. Starting this year, the student parking lot gate will close at 8:35, and we will no longer excuse late arrivals during the first 10 minutes. Students must be in class by 8:35 to avoid a tardy and not miss important announcements.
Please note:
-
Food and drinks are not allowed in most classrooms. Students may be asked to store them during class.
-
Capital is a closed campus. Students may not leave for lunch unless they are seniors without a 5th period.
-
Delivery services like DoorDash or Uber Eats are not permitted.
-
The student parking lot is off-limits during the day, unless a student has a blue pass or is a senior with no 5th period and leaving for the day.
25/26 Student Code of Conduct
The Student Code of Conduct outlines the rules and expectations for behavior at school. It covers areas like attendance, dress code, technology use, and disciplinary procedures. We encourage parents to review it with their student to help support a safe and respectful learning environment.
