PTA Buzz

🐝 ❤️ Welcome to a brand‑new school year — and a brand‑new month at NRE! ❤️🐝

Whether you’re returning or joining us for the first time, we’re so glad you’re here. September always feels like the moment when routines settle, friendships form, and our school community really comes alive.

Help us reach our September membership goal of 100% of last year's membership (265 members) by the end of September! Any member of your family can join PTA and community members can also support our PTA by joining.

Student Membership Contest:

We will be having a student membership drive through October with special prizes to be announced! Any student memberships received since August 1 will count towards the drive, so -- don't delay, join today!

Our PTA focuses on a single mission:

to make every child's potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.

Your membership strengthens our community.

💛 🐝 Bee the difference — join the PTA and help our school buzz with success. 🐝 💛

• Areas of support from the PTA at our school:

You may submit dues via joinPTA.org or our Cheddar Up store. Please note that joinPTA does not offer the $6 student rate for Newton Rayzor PTA memberships. For you convenience, you can submit dues for adult memberships and child membership in one transaction via Cheddar Up.

Please note that both sites charge a processing fee. You may also pay your dues in cash at Generations Night. Starting the second week of school, membership forms and envelopes will be available in the front office.

Don't forget that if you want to volunteer in the school, each person has to fill out the application each year. Get yours done now!

Fall Bookfair Kicks Off September 8 and runs thru Sept 11

Generations Night @ NRE

Sept 10, 5:30–7:00 PM

This evening is for all generations—grandparents, parents, siblings, and anyone who’s supporting your child. 💛

🌭 We are very grateful to Highland Baptist Church here in Denton for donating the hot dogs to our school for this event! Chips, drinks, and more available for purchase, supporting NRE club and student fundraisers like G.O.A.L. and 5th Grade Science Camp.

The Book Fair will be open too! 📙

Come ready for adventure, laughter, and the treasure of time spent together!

Don't forget that Newton Rayzor will be offering a toy swap during Generations night.

Families can bring in gently used toys to school between now and September 9. When you donate a toy, your name will be added to our Toy Swap list.

On the night of the event:

- 5:30–6:15 PM: Families whose names are on the list can choose a new-to-them toy for their children.

- 6:15 PM: Any toys that remain will be open to everyone! You do not have to bring a toy to participate during this time.

This is a great opportunity to give gently used toys a new home while bringing a little extra fun to another family. We hope you will participate and help make our Toy Swap a success!

Please remember that all donated toys should be gently used and in good condition.

Used toys can be dropped of with Mrs. Gavilanes or Mrs. Vu.

Our first Coffee Walk is Wednesday, Sept 16!

We need 2 volunteers to meet at the PTA storage room (by the 2nd set of stairs near the front door) at 8:00 am. We’ll set up the cart and start making rounds by 8:15 am. Also, please consider donating $5 - $10 for Teacher Appreciation so we can shop for coffee walk supplies.

Community Arts Night Leader Interest Form

The National PTA Reflections program is returning, and this year's theme is "What My Culture Means to Me." Students are invited to showcase their creativity by creating an original work in one of six categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, or Visual Arts. Whether your child loves to draw, write, dance, compose music, take photos, or make videos, Reflections is a wonderful opportunity to share their unique perspective and talents. For more information visit Newton Rayzor's Reflections website. Entries can be submitted HERE.

Every teacher and staff member at Newton Rayzor pours their energy into our kids every single day — let's make sure they feel that support right back. A PTA membership connects them to our school community and gives them a voice in the decisions that shape it.

For just $11 per membership, you can sponsor one (or several!) of the incredible educators and staff members who make our school what it is. Feel free to sponsor as many as you'd like — every membership is a small way of saying "we see you, and we appreciate you."

100% of your contribution goes directly toward covering PTA membership for the teacher or staff member of our school.
