Welcome Back, Rangers!
Good Afternoon, Ranger Families!
Welcome back to the 2026–2027 school year! There is something special about the energy that fills Ranger Country when our halls come alive with students, laughter, learning, and connection. I cannot wait to see our Rangers walking through the doors, reconnecting with friends and teachers, and beginning another year together.
As we begin this school year, our commitment remains clear: we will continue building a culture of belonging, excellence, and growth where every Ranger is known and seen. Our students deserve a school where they feel valued, challenged, supported, and inspired to become the very best version of themselves.
That commitment was on full display this week as we welcomed our Ranger teachers and staff back to Central. The passion, energy, and purpose they brought to our learning together was inspiring. Our professional learning was intentional and focused on the experiences our students have every day—how we know them, how we see them, how we connect with them, and how we create meaningful opportunities for them to grow within our classrooms and throughout the Central experience.
The heart of our work is simple: Every Ranger Known. We want every student to know that they matter here, that their voice matters, that their strengths matter, and that there are adults at Central who know them and believe in them.
We also have an exciting accomplishment to celebrate as we begin the year. The recently released U.S. News & World Report rankings recognized Central High School as the #6 best high school in Michigan and the #1 comprehensive high school in the state!
This recognition is a tremendous reflection of the collective work of our school community. It represents the dedication and hard work of our teachers and staff, the energy, curiosity, and determination of our students, and the unwavering partnership of our families and community. These accomplishments do not happen because of one person or one program—they happen because an entire community believes in what is possible for its students.
While we are proud of this recognition, we also know that the most important work happens every day in our classrooms, hallways, activities, athletic fields, and conversations with students. Rankings are one measure of success. The relationships we build, the lives we impact, and the growth we see in our Rangers are what truly define Central High School.
I am incredibly excited for what lies ahead. Thank you for being part of a community that continues to believe in belonging, excellence, and growth and for helping make Central a place where every Ranger can thrive.
Welcome back, Rangers! Let's make it another great year in Ranger Country!
