Welcome Back to School 2026-27

Welcome to a new school year! I am sure that you and your children are looking forward to beginning a wonderful school year.

To our new fifth grade students, we look forward to you becoming the leaders and role models here at Turkey Hill School. To our new third grade students, we look forward to seeing your kindness and curiosity continue to flourish this school year. To our new fourth grade students, continue to show your Turkey Hill pride as you learn and grow this school year.

This is going to be a great school year. If you haven't already done so, you can learn your child's homeroom teacher's name by checking the PowerSchool Parent Portal. If you don't have access, contact Ms. McAllister (her information is below). She is always helpful.

The school is just about ready. Floors are shining, decorations are going up, and work is being prepared. All we need is you! It is going to be a gobbling great year!!

The first day of school is Tuesday, September 1. Students will be allowed in the school at 8:38 and dismissal is at 3:10.

Enjoy the last weekend of Summer.

With much excitement,

Mr. McGrath

MEAL BENEFITS AND NEW PAYMENT SYSTEM COMING SOON

In School Year 2026-2027, all students will receive free breakfast and lunch at school due to the implementation of community Eligibility Provision (CEP). CEP allows schools/districts to provide breakfast and lunch to students at no cost. Families do not need to submit a household meal benefit application to receive these meals.

If you are not receiving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits and have been approved for free or reduced-price school meals, you may be eligible for SNAP which provides monthly financial assistance to purchase groceries to Massachusetts residents who qualify. Find out if you are eligible for SNAP today by calling Project Bread's Food Source Hotline at 1-800-645-8333 and a counselor can help you apply over the phone. You can also apply on your own online at DTA Connect: https://dtaconnect.eohhs.mass.gov/

Please open the Food Services FAQ that answers many questions about the Household Free & Reduced School Meal application process.

Weโ€™re excited to have you using LINQ Connectยฎโ€”your one-stop app for managing school meal payments quickly and securely. Revtrak will no longer be available as a payment system for any food service purchases. Please see your school handbook for more detailed information regarding this program as well as a food service newsletter that will be forthcoming.

Drop off and Pick up Expectations

Our school day starts at 8:50 am and ends at 3:10 pm. At times, you may need to adjust your child's arrival or dismissal time. If this happens please make sure to email Alicia McAllister (school secretary) at: amcallister@lunenburgschools.net, along with your child's homeroom teacher. Please bring your ID when you are dismissing students from the office.

Arrival:

  • If you are dropping your student off, please park along Oak Street and a staff member will direct students when it is time to get out of the car and walk into the building through the side door, this happens around 8:38 am. Please have your child exit from the passenger side of the car. Children can get out of the car once your vehicle reaches the sidewalk. If there is no adult on the sidewalk and all the buses have left, please drop your student off at the front of the building.

Dismissal:

  • Should you choose to pick up your child at school please have your taxi sign with the child's last name in the window and cue up along Oak Street. Please keep your taxi sign up until your child gets into your car. If you do not have a taxi sign you will be asked to show ID, the signs indicate that you are an authorized person to pick up your child/children. If you need extra taxi signs for multiple cars please let us know and we will get one to you. Students will come out through the side door and enter the cars. Once all the buses have left the parking lot, we will have parents pull up in front of the building. If you do not have a Taxi sign for your car, we will try to get you one, in line, on the first day of school.
