Eagle Update

Just a few more days and October will be over already!

We look forward to welcoming parents in for conferences on Thursday and Friday. In addition to meeting with teachers, the Scholastic Book Fair will be open for browsing and shopping for families. The Book Fair will also continue to be open next week and students will have the opportunity to shop during their scheduled Library time through October 29.

In case you have a sweet tooth on Saturday, Donutland is hosting a Dine Out at both the Tualatin and Newberg locations. Simply mention Archer Glen when you pick up your treat and 100% of the proceeds will be donated back to our school!

We are excited to host our fall harvest parties this year! Students will be allowed to wear costumes at school; however, the times for that will vary depending on the class. Your child's teacher will share those details as the date gets closer. Please know that all costumes need to be appropriate (no violence, weapons, fake blood, face masks, or full face paint) and, ideally, something that your child can take on and off fairly or completely independently. Each class will be running their own celebration and those may look different from class to class.

For all our parents wanting to unload some of the Halloween goodies, our Candy Buy Back Week will begin on November 2nd and run through the 6th.

It's a great time to set up an eWallet for your child. An eWallet is a cashless way for your child to shop at the fair that also allows family and friends to contribute.

Please note that a new eWallet needs to be created for each Book Fair.

Nutrition Services is joining in on the Harvest Party fun! On Thursday, October 29th, students can enjoy a spooky-themed lunch featuring bat-shaped chicken nuggets, an all-orange selection of fruits and veggies from the salad bar and mini graham crackers shaped like pumpkins, ghosts and bats (oh my!).

We hope to see you there!

Bring your unwanted Halloween Candy to the office the first week of November (11/2-11/6) to go towards The Great Candy Challenge! Last year, Archer Glen got 2nd place out of all the area schools and raised over $659 which was 259 pounds worth of candy.

All volunteers will need to complete and have an approved background check on file prior to volunteering each school year. Please click here to complete the form.
