Welcome GHS Families!
Welcome to the 2025-26 school year at Galax High School! We are gearing up to welcome our students back to school on Monday, August 18th.
Foundational goals for our students are to Be Here, Be Involved, & Be Successful. These goals align with expectations around strong school attendance and becoming involved in a sport, club, and/or activity of interest. Research indicates that these factors lead to greater student success.
Communication is key to a successful partnership between home and school. We encourage you to stay informed and engaged throughout the year. Please make sure your contact information is up-to-date with the school office. We will regularly share important updates, school events, and student progress. If you don’t already have the Galax City Schools app on your phone, I encourage you to download it. We push out important notifications and our teachers and coaches also use this app to communicate with families and students.
We believe that a strong partnership between parents, students, and the school is fundamental to student success. Your involvement and support play a crucial role in creating a positive and productive learning environment. We look forward to collaborating with you to ensure your student has a fulfilling and successful year at Galax High School.
Student drivers must purchase a parking permit for $15. Parking permits must be displayed in the students’ cars at all times and may be purchased from 8am-3pm or at open house August 14th (1-6pm). Galax City Public Schools provides its students with essential school supplies they will need for instruction once again this year.
