Life at SMS Life at SMS

This week, SMS celebrates our Civics elective class. Spearheaded by Mrs. Brooks, the Civics class has recently visited the state capitol to watch a legislative session and meet district Representative Courtney Neron and Senator Aaron Woods.

Also, students were allowed to participate in the Civics Bee, an incredible experience for SMS students chosen because of their written essay identifying a struggle within their community and then describing a solution utilizing government systems. Only 20 students statewide were selected to participate, and SMS represented 4 of those seats! Congratulations to Nate, Shivani N, Callen, and Shivani V were selected, and Shivani N who earned 3rd place at the Bee!

Order Your Yearbook Today! Order Your Yearbook Today!

You can still order a yearbook, though it may not arrive at the school in time for the signing event. You can still customize and have it shipped to home plus a $5.99 shipping fee. Rush shipping will NOT make a difference. Enter your students flight time teacher in case it does arrive before school gets out. Include your home address in case it does not.
