Educational Excellence
Dear NOW Families,
At RFK NOW, we are committed to making sure that every student experiences high-quality, engaging, and meaningful learning every day. To support this goal, our teachers have been participating in professional learning focused on ways to strengthen instruction and better meet the needs of all learners.
Over the past several professional development sessions, our teachers have explored strategies for supporting students who need additional help, strengthening reading and writing, deepening mathematical thinking, increasing student collaboration, and making learning more accessible for English Learners and neurodivergent students.
Our teachers have also practiced engaging strategies such as Gallery Walks, partner discussions, collaborative reading and writing activities, and other ways for students to process their learning and learn from one another.
Now, our teachers are taking time to pause, reflect, and put their learning into practice. They are asking themselves important questions:
✨ What new strategies have I brought into my classroom?
✨ What has become clearer for me as a teacher?
✨ How are these strategies helping my students learn?
✨ What do I need to continue improving?
As I visit classrooms, I look forward to seeing our teachers put this professional learning into action and seeing our students actively engaged in their learning.
We also look forward to October 27th, when we will take time to reflect on our progress and continue identifying ways to strengthen our school.
The work we do today matters. Every lesson, every conversation, every strategy, and every opportunity to learn helps us move closer to our vision for excellence and success for every Bobcat.
Thank you for partnering with us as we continue to grow, learn, and improve together.

This year, I ask that we lean into hope.
Hope for our students.
Hope for one another.
Hope for our school.
Hope for the collective future we are building together.
Let us begin and end this year believing that what we do together can make a difference—and that the best is still ahead. Let these snapshots be proof of the strength of our community.
