Dear Hubbard Woods Families,

We are less than one week away from the start of the new school year, and we are eager to meet each of you. In preparation for this school year, the staff has been preparing the physical environment to be welcoming for students and our families. I know that there is great anticipation as you prepare to entrust your most precious gifts to our dedicated Hubbard Woods staff. Please enjoy this last weekend before school starts. This is a reminder that supervision on the blacktop will begin at 8:20am each day. Students will enter the building at 8:30am. Please ensure that your child is ready for learning by 8:37am.

1st Day of School Schedule

8:37-11:20am

2nd Day of School

Kindergarten: 8:37am - 2:10pm

1st - 4th Grades: Tuesday - Friday: 8:37am - 3:15pm

Lunch for all students will be from 11:30am - 12:20pm

This is a reminder that we have a few meet and greets today:

• 10:45-11:30 for Kindergarten.

• 1:00-1:45 for 1st-4th Grade

This is a great opportunity to visit your child's classroom, meet the teacher, and see classmates before the start of school. Please come in the main entrance and we will point you in the right direction! Please just visit your current teacher so that you and your child can start developing relationships with your child’s new teacher and their new classmates. Visits should last approximately 15 minutes.

We are also hosting a principal meet and greet on Thursday, August 29th at 12:30pm. Please enter through the doors on Burr and Laurel Ave. We will host this meet and greet in our new beautiful multipurpose room that is fully air conditioned. You will also be able to check out the space for recess while we wait for the completion of the playground in mid October. You will have the opportunity to get to know a little bit about Mrs. Ajavon and have an opportunity to provide feedback.

Additional After School Program: Amazing Minds

Calling all 1st-2nd graders! How would you like to go on an incredible journey with Amazing Minds after school where instructors will help sharpen your skills in math, science, geography, language arts and reading through fun, hands-on thematic based activities. Come and exercise your brain with us after school!

• Thursday, September 26th - Back to School Night (6:00-7:30 pm)
