Principal Victoria's Notes
Some thoughts for the starting school year
A NOTE FROM MRS. SNOW
What a wonderful week we had at Turner! On Wednesday, we celebrated our first Surprise Attendance Day, and it was such a joy to welcome our Wildkats with staff cheers and welcoming signs! Students enjoyed a movie during lunch, and we ended the day with a random drawing for special treats for some of our first gradersโthe grade level with the highest attendance that day!
We will have a Surprise Attendance Day each month, so there are more fun moments ahead! We love seeing our Wildkats here every day, learning, growing, and making memories together.
Wednesday was also Unity Day, and our Turner family wore orange to stand together against bullying and celebrate kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. Every child deserves to feel welcome, valued, and connected at school.
We also enjoyed a visit from Pets with a Mission, giving some of our students the opportunity to read to some furry friends! These sweet moments help build reading confidence and encourage a love of books.
This week was also School Bus Safety Week! Our transportation department visited Turner to guide students through important bus safety procedures. Students especially enjoyed practicing how to safely evacuate a bus! We are grateful for our transportation team and proud to partner with them to help ensure your children arrive at school and return home safely each day.
We have a busy and exciting week ahead! Be sure to read below for details about Above the Influence Week, our fourth grade musical, and Big Kahuna product delivery.
Thank you for partnering with us and sharing your children with us each day. They are the heart of Turner, and we are so glad they are part of our Wildkat family!
Willis ISD Badge Expectations for Bus Service
Starting October 19, students will need to badge on and off the bus each time they ride.
Morning: Students may ride without a badge, but the missed badge will receive a referral.
Afternoon: Students must have a badge to ride home. If they forget their badge, their campus will need to provide a temporary badge so they can ride home.
Temporary badges are intended for occasional use. Repeatedly arriving without a badge may result in progressive consequences, including loss of bus riding privileges.
Please help your student make it a habit to bring their ID badge to school every day. When students badge on and off the bus, families can also receive more accurate transportation information through MyRide K-12, including when their student boards and exits the bus.
Thank you for partnering with us to keep transportation safe and reliable.
One Team. One Purpose.

๐ Car Rider Trail: Drop-Off & Pick-Up
We want arrival and dismissal to be safe, smooth, and as easy as possible for our Turner families! Car rider drop-off and pick-up take place on the side of the building.
For the safety of every Wildkat, families must have a car rider tag in order to pick up a student through the car rider line. At Turner, we use Control Point to help us safely and efficiently match students with their authorized pick-up vehicles.
๐พ Need a Car Rider Tag?
Click the link below to request your car rider tag. Once your request has been submitted, tags may be picked up in the front office.
Please remember to bring your car rider tag with you each day. If you arrive without your tag, we will kindly ask you to exit the car rider line and visit the front office, where we will verify your information and print a tag for you. We know this may take a few extra minutes, and we truly appreciate your patience and understandingโthis extra step helps us make sure every child leaves campus safely with the correct person. ๐

๐ Safety for Our Wildkats
The safety of our students, staff, and families is always our top priority. When entering Turner, we ask that each individual visitor present a photo ID to the camera and enter the building one person at a time.
We know our Turner families are kind and courteous, but when entering the secured entrance, please do not hold the door open or allow another person to enter behind you. Each visitor must be individually verified before entering the building.
Thank you for partnering with us and following these important safety procedures. Together, we can help keep all of our Wildkats safe! ๐๐พ
