OUR FINAL DAY TO ACCEPT FUNDRAISING DONATIONS IS FRIDAY, APRIL 4TH!!! General Donation Link is below!

We are so grateful for our Cooper Community who showed up BIG for our Cooper Glow Run Fundraiser! We far surpassed our initial $10,000 goal and pushed to double that, offering a skate day at World of Wheels for our students if we met our new goal! Well, we met THAT goal as well!!! Our students ran with heart on March 28th to say THANK YOU for the support and generosity, and they will reap the benefits of their hard work fundraising because the money raised will go directly back to them for events, field trips, and PBIS rewards!

Cooper 4th Graders Experience the Woods at Four Corners Elementary

Our 4th graders at Cooper collaborated with the 4th and 5th grade classes at Four Corners Elementary to learn about the history of maple syrup, learn how they gather sap and boil it off to make maple syrup, hike their trails to make nature observations, they did some yoga to relax, played mancala and Apples to Apples, and made new friendships. Such an awesome learning experience!

Cooper Families,

We hope you all were able to get out and enjoy the snow day. Hopefully the snow won't last long and we can get the spring feeling again. We will continue to be outside each day when weather allows so please be sure to send your child with proper outdoor attire, and it's always a good idea to pack a spare set of clothes in their backpack in the event they might need to change out of wet or muddy clothing!

Forward Testing is underway in grades 3-5. I have been so impressed with the hard work from the students! Please make sure your child is getting a good night's sleep and is to school on time so they are ready to go for testing in the classroom.

Finally, if you have not done so already please take a few minutes to fill out the survey. We really appreciate your feedback.

Problem Solving

Our final unit this year in our Second Step curriculum is Problem Solving. This takes everything we've learned this year - understanding our emotions, empathy for others, emotional regulation - and uses them to help us be able to solve problems in safe and respectful ways. Below you will see a few of the problem solving resources we use here at school and a family problem solving flowchart as well.

The way adults respond to children's conflicts can help or harm their ability to improve these skills. Parents and other caring adults can help children manage conflict by approaching it as a shared problem that can be solved by understanding all [...]
