Principal's Corner

Bobcat Parents, we are stressing attendance and safety with our students all day everyday. Please help us with these endeavors by modeling. Modeling good attendance by having our students on campus by 7:45 AM everyday. If your student should be absent, please make sure to turn in the note for their absence the day they come back to school. We ask that you assist in modeling safety by showing them safe actions while on campus. Make sure you are following our safety guidelines because they are watching the adults and they do what we do, instead of what we say. So if they see the adults doing unsafe things in our parking lot or during the drop off and dismissal routine, they are less likely to embody the safety standards we ask of them on a daily basis. Our parents are our students first teachers. Please help us as we reinforce our Emergent Tree Value Pillars about being safe and being responsible while on campus.

National Parks Card

Congratulations to Ms. Word's and Ms. Navarro's fourth grade classes. They were all recipients of a National Parks Card that will give themselves and one guest free access to any national park! We expect to hear some wonderful stories of all the adventures they will have this year.

Brighter Bites Needs Your Help!

We had about 10-14 volunteers last distribution from SOSA Center and Healthy Neighborhoods. We will need about the same this week due to the volume and we really would love to get parent engagement. Volunteer sign up sheets can be completed in the Bellaire front office.

We are preparing for our Thanksgiving Lunch at Bellaire! We will allow each student to have a maximum of two guests with them on November 16th during their lunch time to celebrate. If you plan to partake of the lunch provided by the campus please contact our front office so we can begin a head count to prepare enough meals. The cafeteria meal will cost $6.00 and tea will be $1.00. The menu will consist of: Corn bread stuffing, Creamy mashed potatoes w/gravy, Seasoned green beans, Freshly baked dinner roll, Fresh fruit of the day, Strawberry fruit cup, Sweet potato pie, Cranberry sauce, Orange sherbet cup, and milk. The contact number for the front office is 210-989-2850, please let them know your child's name, grade level, name of two guests, and how many lunches will be purchased. You will need ID on the day of the event. Please contact our office by October 20th.

RootEd Representative

Bellaire is looking for a parent to serve as our RootEd Representative. The RootEd Rep would be someone who is a cheerleader for our campus, willing to use our RootEd hashtag and post about our school on social media? (In a positive light.)

The importance of storytelling is to show the naysayers that our schools are amazing! RootEd constantly have parents reaching out wanting to hear about our schools and the hashtag will really help get the word out. If you fit the bill and want to be an advocate for Bellaire, please let your student's teacher know so they can recommend you right away!
