Note from the Nurse

Just a friendly reminder that disposable masks should not be re-used and need to be disposed of properly. Re-usable masks should be washed regularly to promote good healthy hygiene. All Students have or will be receiving a cloth mask issued by the county. Although we will supply an emergency mask if needed, students should practice having a reserve mask in their school bags.

Meet Our Morning Announcers

Every morning our 4th grade announcers remind us of today's date, what day we are on for our special rotation, and lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance. They also make any other announcements that are needed. They are doing a great job and we thank them for being our morning "voice of Tawanka".

Library

Hello Tawanka Families,

As some of you may already know, we have started book section in the library. Our first day was Monday October 12th for grades 1-4. Kindergarten is finishing up learning all the book care rules and will choose library books the first week in November.

The following safety protocols are in place:

  • 3-4 students are up at a time following social distancing criteria as they look for a book.
  • Students must sanitize hands upon entry and exit to the library.
  • Students will not browse the library shelves for book selection.
  • Students will select a book that is on display from a couple different areas by sight only…this is the time to judge a book by its cover.
  • Once the student touches the book, they MUST check it out.
  • Students will check out the book to take home and return on their next library visit (I suggest having students put their book in their school bag every time they come to school so they don't forget they have library that day).
  • Returned books will be isolated and quarantined for five days.
