Principal's Message
STEM Family,
Good evening! What a beautiful weekend! And we really needed some sunshine after all the gray skies and rain. The forecast for tomorrow, Tuesday, 5/27, looks good for field day! The kids have been looking forward to this all year! It will be chilly in the morning, though, so long pants and sweatshirts will be best.
As you know, the Peace on My Block event got moved to this Thursday due to rain last week. That also happens to be the night of our 6th grade graduation. We have been looking forward to honoring our 6th graders that are moving on all year. We will begin with a dinner at 5pm at Mid Ohio ESC and start the ceremony at 5:30pm. The ceremony will conclude in plenty of time for families to also attend Peace on My Block right across the road at Arlin Field afterward.
Our last day, Friday May 30th, is a 1 hour early release day! If you pick your students up, please mark your calendar.
It has been a wonderful year this year. As we conclude this week, there will be celebrating and fun, but we will also be saying some goodbyes. We have several staff members that are retiring this year: Nancy Niedermier has been a kindergarten teacher for STEM since the program began in 2016. Betsy Moore joined the program as a 2nd grade teacher 3 years ago. Kathy Kranch and Ron Kendall-Freas both joined the staff this year. And finally, our head cook, Joan Uzunoff, who has been with the district for over 40 years! We thank them for their service to the district and to our program!
Sincerely,
Cara Will, principal
