Purpose & Requirement
West Lane Singers meet in the Fall and Spring semesters. The purpose of this group is to provide motivated aspiring singers with enriched choral training and performance experience. Students must be able to sing accurately with a group in the treble range. Only 3rd and 4th-grade students are invited to participate.

Respect yourself: Always present your best self with courteous and professional behavior.
Attendance (Most Thursdays from 3:30-5:00 pm)
Your voice counts! When you are gone, it makes a difference.
- You are expected to attend all rehearsals and performances unless you are ill, have a family emergency, or a pre-arranged excused absence.
- When absent, a parent/guardian must provide a written excuse within 1 week of absence.
- More than two unexcused absences from rehearsal will result in dismissal from the choir.
- One unexcused absence from a performance will result in dismissal from the choir and exclusion from any field trips.

Concert Attire
Informal:
Worn at local sporting events or during school hours.
West Lane Singers t-shirt (or any red t-shirt) with good-condition jeans and sneakers.
T-shirts will be ordered in late September (after the last day to join).
Formal:
Worn for concerts with other choirs or formal events.
School-appropriate, nice casual, and comfortable.
Typically black pants or skirt/tights with black shoes.
Tops can be any combination of black, white, gray, or red. Themes may adjust these guidelines.
Rehearsals & Performances
Spring rehearsal dates are listed below. Traveling performances, such as singing the National Anthem at a local event, may be added to this schedule throughout the semester, and will not be counted if missed in the attendance policy.
Reminder: Rehearsal ends at 5 pm unless we have a scheduled performance!

- Thursday, January 29th- No Rehearsal, Mrs. Ellison is at a conference!

- Thursday, February 12th- No Rehearsal, party day
- Thursday, February 19th- Rehearsal *Last day to join!
- Thursday, February 26th- Rehearsal
- Thursday, March 5th- Rehearsal
- Thursday, March 12th- Rehearsal
- Thursday, March 19th- Rehearsal; (Parent/Teacher Conference Night)
- Thursday, March 26th- **regular Rehearsal; Jackson Choral Festival was cancelled. Stay tuned for an updated concert date with other elementary choirs.
- Thursday, April 2nd- No Rehearsal; enjoy your Spring Break!
- Thursday, April 9th- Rehearsal

- Spring Walking Tour- TBD during school hours: We will walk to the Villas of Jackson and Jackson Manor nursing homes to sing.
