Where Little Panther Cubs Begin BIG Journeys
From the Principal
This is how we Take Chances, Make Mistakes and Get Messy! Our little Panther Cubs are learning to ROAR with pride and how “we do school”!
🐾 Week 11 at Luce Road
We’ve made it to Week Eleven, and our Panther Cubs had an exciting week full of adventure! Every day, we see them ROAR with confidence as they grow in both learning and character. 📚 Their curiosity is blooming, their friendships are strengthening, and their ability to reflect on their learning is beginning to shine. We are so proud of the amazing progress they’re making together as a school family. 💙
🧠 Learning at Luce Road
At Luce Road, we want every child to know exactly what they’re learning and why it matters.
Deep Thinking
Through programs like Bookworms (reading) and Bridges (math), teachers use purposeful questions to help students think more deeply and explain their ideas.
Reflection and Sharing
Next week, students will be learning how to reflect on their learning experiences at the end of each lesson. They will also practice expressing those ideas to their friends—helping them grow as thoughtful, confident learners who can explain what they know.
🖐️ Safe Hands & Responsibility
This week, we continued to talk about Safe Hands and what it means to be responsible.
Safe hands mean we use our hands for helping, sharing, playing, and caring. We don’t use our hands for hurting, pushing, or hitting. When we use safe hands, we keep our friends, teachers, and school feeling calm and cared for.
This month, we’re also learning about Responsibility—taking action and understanding how our choices affect others.
Being responsible looks like:
-
Taking care of toys and materials
-
Cleaning up after yourself
-
Listening to directions
-
Using kind words
-
Trying your best
🌟 Responsibility Challenge
Each class will nominate a student at the end of the month who has shown outstanding responsibility. We can’t wait to celebrate their leadership!
🍂 Fall Harvest Family Engagement
Next week, we’ll be celebrating Fall Harvest with a special school-wide family engagement day! We’re looking forward to welcoming our families, enjoying seasonal activities, and making memories together as a Luce Road community.
💙 Where Little Panther Cubs Begin Big Journeys
At Luce Road, we’re so proud of the way our Cubs are growing into caring, curious, and confident learners. Week 11 shows we are well on our way to a year full of learning, laughter, and growth.

THE WEATHER IS CHANGING
Dressing for the Weather
🧥 Dress for the Weather
Please help your child come to school dressed for the changing fall weather. Our Panther Cubs go outside 3 to 4 times a day, and mornings can be chilly.
-
Check the weather each morning to help your child dress appropriately.
-
Send a jacket or hoodie and closed-toe shoes every day.
-
Students are expected to go outside each time, so being prepared helps them stay comfortable and focused.
-
Label all items with your child’s name so we can return lost items quickly.
Thank you for helping keep our Cubs comfy, safe, and ready to play all day long! 🐾

Important Notes to Parents
🧡 Calling All Parent Volunteers!
We love having our Luce Road families be part of the fun! If you’re interested in volunteering at the school—whether it’s helping in classrooms, assisting with events, or supporting special projects—your time and enthusiasm make a huge difference.
Please reach out to the office or your child’s teacher to learn how you can get involved. Thank you for helping make Luce Road such a warm and supportive community for our students!
Labeling Student Belongings
Parents and guardians, please label your Panther Cub’s belongings, including backpack, coat, lunch box, and water bottle. Our Lost and Found is filling up, and labeled items can be returned quickly. Thank you for your help!
Clothing
Please make sure you send a change of clothes in for your student. Sometimes accidents happen and it’s helpful for them to have a change of clothes.
Please make sure ALL of your student’s belongings are labeled with their name! If it gets lost, staff will know who to return it to!
