  • Book Fair: The CMS Book Fair will take place from 9/22-9/26. Students will visit the Book Fair via their World Language or Reading class. Thanks to those teachers for being willing to help out! I’ll send the specific schedule to them soon.
  • Printing Confidential Documents: Please be mindful about printing documents like IEPs that have confidential information on them. Only send those to the printer when you are present at that printer. Do not let these documents sit at a printer to be picked up later.
  • Reading Bowl Coach Needed: I need another person to help me coach the CMS Reading Bowl team. If you have questions about that entails or are interested, stop by the Media Center 😊.
  • Devices for Checkout: I hope to have our loaner devices up and running soon. Students will need a pass to come to the Media Center to check one out period by period. In the meantime, we have 3 desktops that can be used in here. Please be conscientious about sending students to use these – especially if they just forgot their device at home that day. Ask yourself: Does this student really need to use a computer to complete this work right now?
  • Laminating Requests: Since it’s slowed down, laminator requests now go on the cart in my office in the Media Center – right by the laminator. Please only laminate items that will be used from year to year OR items that will be used a lot this school year. Be conscientious of what you laminate.
  • Color Printing Requests and Scrolling News: Email color printing requests and info for the scrolling news to me at salvatorer@fultonschools.org. Please be conscientious of your requests and only ask for items that really need to be in color.

Staff Points Report

Dress Code:

We will begin enforcing our dress code next week. We want to be consistent, but reasonable. If you have a student you think may be out of dress code, but you aren’t sure. Ask a teammate or an administrator to weigh in as we are all learning what to enforce.

Remember, students are to be sent to the ISS room to get a change of clothes. At dismissal, please send them back to ISS to change again and return the borrowed clothes. If the student in a bus rider, they should leave their backpack in their 8th period class and return to 8th period after they change. This is so they don’t wander.

Lockers:

Remember-all students should have been assigned a locker on. Students may no longer carry backpacks throughout the day. If you have a child who needs a backpack for a medical, or other reason. The school counselors are issuing yellow backpack tags that will be placed on the backpack of students who have approval to carry their bag.

Attendance:

We need to start marking students tardy, but we also know that some students just got their lockers on Friday and may still need a few extra minutes. If a student is coming to class well after the halls have cleared and other students have been in class, especially if you know it’s not due to a locker issue or distance between classes, please mark them tardy in IC. We will continue to tighten up tardies in the third week of school.

FCS Vanguard New Member Application FCS Vanguard New Member Application

The FCS Vanguard Team is excited to welcome a new cohort of innovative educators! The interest window for new members is open now through Friday, September 5 at 5:00 PM.
