Park View Welcome
2025-2026 School Year
Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year
I hope everyone is having a wonderful and restful summer! As we gear up for another exciting year, we are looking forward to welcoming our students, staff, and families back into the building. The energy, laughter, and learning that fill our halls are just around the corner, and we can’t wait.
Beginning this week, you’ll receive a newsletter every Friday afternoon with updates, important reminders, and celebrations from across our school. We’re thrilled to partner with you for another amazing year!
I look forward to seeing everyone soon!
Mrs. Kristie Mate

PTC Kindergarten Playdate
August 18: 3:30p.m.-4:30 p.m. at Park View Playground
Kindergarten families come join us to meet other kindergarteners, play and enjoy a popsicle. Siblings welcome! Mrs. Mate will be there to show the kindergarteners where they will line up on the first day. This is a great opportunity to connect with other families and give students a chance to have a familiar face for the first day of school.
Meet the teacher: August 19
From 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. on August 19, we will be hosting a meet-the-teacher event. Stop by Park View with your school supplies to lighten your load on the first day of school and meet your teacher. Any school supply kits that were ordered by the PTC will be in your student's classroom for you to pick up.
Our nurse will have a table to drop off the following items:
Kindergarten: medical, eye, dental forms
Second grade: Dental forms
Any emergency care plans (allergies)
Kindergarten Screening
Park View Elementary will hold our kindergarten screening events on August 7 and 8 at our school, 250 S. Park Blvd., Glen Ellyn.
We ask that families sign up for one of the time slots on either Thursday, August 7, or Friday, August 8. These screenings are for all kindergarten students.
Your student will meet with one of our kindergarten teachers to go over some basic screening questions. These are not tests. You do not need your student to prepare or study. This is simply our first opportunity to get to know your students. Parents do not go in the screening room with their child but should wait for them to finish. You can expect the screening will take about 20 minutes.
If you can not make these dates, not a problem, the teachers will screen your child in the classroom the first few weeks of school.
If you have questions, please contact Mrs. Mullany at Park View (630)858-1600
