Class of 2027 Senior Newsletter
A Newsletter for MRHS Rising Seniors and Families
Dear Seniors and Parents/Guardians:
The counseling team has compiled a list of frequently used resources for students to utilize during the college search process.
All seniors will meet with their counselor in September to check in regarding the application process. At this time, we will instruct students on how to match Naviance to the Common App website, review deadlines and go over other important information. GPA's and Class Ranks will be calculated at the start of senior year.
Have a great summer and see you in September.

Letters of Recommendation
Most students applying to college need 3 letters of recommendation: one from their school counselor and two additional letters - at least one should be from an academic teacher. It is the student's responsibility to ask for letters to be written and submit the required information. Please give recommenders a minimum of two weeks. In September, counselors will walk students through the process of completing the formal letter request in Naviance. Please submit the attached forms ASAP to your school counselor.
⭐Best recommendation is that you ask a teacher you have had within the humanities and one within STEM. Some schools have specific requests on what type of teacher to ask so please do your own research.⭐
Letters are confidential.
Make a copy of the forms to your drive and then share them with your counselor.
Monomoy is pleased to introduce a new online program to support students in their academic and career planning goals. Over the past year, a team of educators from MRHS has been trained in MyCap - My Career and Academic Plan. We are excited to introduce MEFA Pathway, a website that your student will be using to guide and support postsecondary planning. MEFA Pathway is offered by MEFA, the Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority, to all Massachusetts students in grades 6-12. It features tools and activities designed to help students research and chart a personalized plan for their future, whether they are looking to go directly into the workforce, plan to attend college, or are unsure of their plans. Within MEFA Pathway, students can:
Discover their own interests, values, and skills
Create a high school course plan
Manage academic, career, and personal goals
Search for colleges
Explore careers
We invite you to log in to MEFA Pathway with your student to view everything the website has to offer. You can also watch the How It Works video for a quick overview.
In addition to MEFA, students will continue to use Naviance and for current seniors, Naviance will be the college communication platform for transcripts and letters of recommendation.
For students who are logging on for the first time, please sign on through Clever. You will be prompted to create security questions and then will have access to the resources on the MEFA Pathway Platform.
