Heatherwood Middle School | April Newsletter
Dear Heatherwood Families,
Happy Spring! I hope everyone enjoys a safe and restful spring vacation from April 6–10.
As we return from spring break, the pace of the school year begins to pick up. With that in mind, please encourage positive and consistent attendance. We want our students to finish strong and feel confident as they prepare to enter the next grade level. This is also a great time to check your student’s assignments, project deadlines, and overall grades. Your support in guiding them with time management and personal investment makes a big difference. We are continuing to build students’ executive functioning skills, and they benefit greatly from your reminders, check-ins, and encouragement.
We also encourage students to attend our Success Time Program, which provides after-school academic support Monday through Thursday. This is a valuable opportunity for additional help and continued growth.
We are excited to invite you to our Annual Multicultural Night on April 16 from 6:00–8:00 PM (please note the updated time). We hope to see you there! Please refer to the flyer below for more details.
Our SBA testing schedule has been released, and students will begin testing in May. More information will be shared as we get closer.
Track and field season is officially underway, and our first meet is on April 23. We invite you to come out and cheer on our student-athletes!
Lastly, our students have been hard at work rehearsing for this year’s musical production, Frozen Junior. Performance dates will be announced soon—stay tuned!
Thank you for your continued partnership and support.
Warm regards,
Dr. Laura Wellington, Principal and Mr. Chris Doll, Assistant Principal
