Community Connection

Our district is proud to honor our veterans with a special assembly on Wednesday, November 11, at 9:00 a.m. at Jayhawk-Linn High School. Veterans, families, and community members are invited to join us as we recognize those who have served our country.

Our FFA leadership team has partnered with Jayhawk Elementary School to prepare a meaningful program, and we look forward to bringing our community together for this special occasion.

We ask students to dress for the occasion to show honor.

Students who drive to school should park in the back parking lot that day to keep parking available for our veterans and community guests.

As we welcome students, families, and community members to Jayhawk-Linn throughout the school day and for evening activities, please help us keep our designated handicapped parking spaces available for those who need them.

These spaces provide important access for individuals with mobility needs, including students who may need accessible drop-off and pick-up locations. Please only use designated handicapped parking spaces when your vehicle has the appropriate permit or placard.

As we begin the school year, we also want to remind families about a new Kansas law regarding student personal electronic devices. Cell phones, smart watches used for communication, and wireless earbuds/headphones may not be accessible to students during the school day. At Jayhawk-Linn, students will turn off their cell phones and place them in their assigned academic lockers at the beginning of the school day, where they will remain until the end of the day. We appreciate your partnership in helping us create an environment where students can focus on learning and build meaningful connections with their teachers and classmates.

The Student Handbook is designed to provide students and parents with essential information about our school's policies, procedures, and expectations.

This year, the Course Guide and Athletics Handbook have been combined into a single document for your convenience. You will also notice the addition of a table of contents with hyperlinks, making it easy to navigate directly to the information you need.

We encourage all students and parents to review these resources together before the start of the school year.
