Hello! My name is Ben Jozwiak (Mr. J) and I am very excited to work with the students and families as Hillside’s new music teacher! I am a product of FPS schools (Forest then Dunckel) and have lived here my entire life. I graduated in 2021 from the University of Michigan with degrees in Music Education and Jazz Studies and have been teaching in various capacities in FPS since then. A fun fact about me is that I love sports and coach Football and Wrestling at Farmington High School!

We are so excited to welcome Mr. Benedict to the Hillside Community! Mr. Benedict also collaborates with the other elementary schools in FPS to offer special enrichment programs.

More and more children are being diagnosed with food allergies each year. In the United States, it's estimated that six million children are living with food allergies. This significant health concern requires the utmost attention, both in our community and within Hillside Elementary. At Hillside, the safety and well-being of our students have always been our top priority.

Hillside Elementary is a Nut-Restricted School, and to uphold this commitment to safety, we have established the following guidelines:

Please refrain from sending any food items containing peanuts, tree nuts, or sesame into school, whether for lunch, snacks, classroom treats, or after-school activities.

FPS families, our Community Support Services department stands ready to partner with those who may be homeless or on the verge of becoming homeless. If you find yourself in this situation, please fill out this confidential form, McKinney Vento Form and we will reach out to you.

Your student has rights under this program that you can find here,

• Transportation assistance (if applicable)

• Free school meals

• Academic support/recovery, school supplies, and other resources

• Fee waivers (for some FPS programs)
