Want to join the New Member Committee?

Are you a one person welcome wagon? Do you love welcoming new people and showing them the ropes? If so, we want you to join the New Member Committee! We are seeking one Vanguard member in each learning community to participate on the new member committee. As a member of the team, you will earn Activity XP, while shepherding a small group of new members through their on-boarding experience. You will be there to answer questions and monitor their progress in the new member course.

Ready to apply? Click here! (https://tinyurl.com/newmembercommitteeapp)

As many of you are aware, we have been working on developing new XP requirements for our non-instructional members. We wanted to ensure that these members felt supported in furthering the mission & vision of the Vanguard team, while recognizing the differences inherent to their varied roles. We sought feedback from non-instructional members to help guide the process, and at long last we are ready to share the new XP requirements with you! Thank you for waiting patiently, as we worked to develop a plan that has the flexibility that you requested and will highlight the important work you do in your varied roles.

Yearly Points: 100 XP

Flexible options for earning 100 XP

  • Option 3: Vanguard Impact Plan + 50 Activity XP

    • 50 Activity XP

Kerry Shorr

Kerry Shorr (Vanguard member at Independence) has gone above and beyond not only supporting her own mentee this school year but all members of the teaching staff. Our school switched to a blended learning model this school year with utilizing the Edgenuity platform plus other tools to offer a blended learning experience for our students. Our structure allows for flexible pacing and scheduling and includes new dynamics and teachers are having to adjust their teaching and best practices. Ms. Shorr has dived in and supported teachers on Edgenuity along with other technology tools that can support blended learning. She is thinking outside of the box to help teachers and even students!

Nominate someone or submit your own Spotlight Vanguard Member!

Vanleads, do you see any vanguard members at your school doing something awesome? Were they struggling with a tool before and are now using it? BRAG on our Vanguard members. If you see something awesome, please submit about your team member.

Please share your success stories with us! You may see your "Spotlight" in an upcoming Vanweekly!
