📰 Headline of the Week
Double Win at Rushville Tri Meet
We all have goals this season. Some athletes are here to become stronger athletes for another sport. Some athletes have personal records that they are trying to smash by the end of the year. Some are trying to earn a Nationals-qualifying performance. Some are trying to go to State. But for me, coaching the entire team as a group, winning a conference title is my goal. This is the mix of kids that I think can break Richmond's NCC drought. I truly believe in all of you, and I can't wait to see what happens.
📅 Upcoming Events
Senior Night - Dual Meet vs. Eastern Hancock
Report time @ RHS is 4:00 PM for all athletes.
Please see the Foot Notes section for important senior night information. Parents walking with their athletes must be present no later than 5:15 PM. We will race this meet in the rain given that there is a very low likelihood of thunder and lightning. If rain is present at the start of the meet, we will discuss honoring our seniors in Tiernan Center.

👣 Foot Notes
Senior Night
If seniors have any changes to their Google Form, please let Coach Lambright know ASAP. The script is being sent to Mr. Brewer first thing in the morning. It will be read verbatim to what you put on the Google Form, so if you want your parents' names to be said instead of just writing that you will be escorted by Mom and Dad (this was more than one person), then please update as soon as possible.
Tables for senior boards will be set up inside the Tiernan Lobby just inside the doors for the track and should be up already immediately after school when athletes get there. Athletes can leave their senior boards in Coach Lambright's classroom during the day if they need a space to do so. If an athlete wants a small journal for parents/athletes/coaches to leave them notes and does not have one, please contact Coach Lambright. The journals are small but sufficient for collecting small notes from teammates. Because so many student-athletes keep their own notebooks, we will not automatically set one out for everyone this year.
Parent Snack Sign-Ups
Here is the link to the ongoing snack sign-up for this week's and all future meets. Please help us out by not accidentally editing anyone else's response. Having everyone's responses visible to each other seemed like the best possible method for handling this to make sure we don't accidentally over-cover or under-cover a meet. We have been provided with a wealth of Kodiak-brand protein bars (think Nature Valley style), but the fruit snacks continue to be a hit with the kids at every single meet if provided.
Attendance Policy
Track athletes are expected to be at practice Monday through Friday each week. Athletes should be communicating with their jobs about their schedule changes. A full schedule of track meets will be made available as soon as possible. If an athlete cannot make it to practice, communication is required. An athlete will receive three excused absences, after which they will meet with a coach about their attendance and further action will be determined. Parents and athletes can reach out to Coach Lambright via the Google Voice number (765) 205-2647.
Meet Schedule
I did not edit this image for the change of senior night to Monday 5/5. That meet is the date of this newsletter and features prominently, but I can edit it for the future if that is confusing/concerning to anyone.
IMPORTANT: The Regional meets are not on this schedule but are exactly one week after the corresponding Sectional meet. Athletes who qualify for Regional will be practicing despite school being over. Athletes who cannot attend the Regional meet for any reason will need to let their coaches know before the Sectional so that we can scratch from the Regional and allow other athletes to participate instead.
ParentSquare is our Official Contact Method
All parent contact should come through ParentSquare. If you are not on the ParentSquare feed for RHS track and field, please reach out to Coach Lambright at your earliest convenience. We will no longer be using Remind as Richmond Community Schools has moved to streamline parent communication and help parents not have ten different apps on their phones.
SportsYou Will Function as an Information Hub
While we would love to live in a world where we assume everyone will see all of our messages, we will continue to post workout plans and calendar events on SportsYou, something the cross country athletes and parents will be familiar with. You can join using the QR code on this paragraph, or by going to SportsYou.com and entering the code QYH8-WB4S. This will serve as a backup, always present information center, but all information on there will be duplicated here. The goal is to have one app that is always up to date, even when the next newsletter is a few days away.
