Z Car Club of Colorado
September 2025 Odometer "Lite"
The Prez Post by Cheryl McKenney
As we come to the end of summer, we are also coming to the end of our fiscal year. The end of the year will bring some big changes. The club will install a new board, and the club will be back to virtual meetings for the winter months. Another important reminder for this time of year is that events after September 1st will accumulate points for the next year. So even though our fiscal year ends on September 30th, points accumulated in September count towards the following year’s points. With several events in September, you can get a jump on becoming an active member next year! Upcoming events include the Clive Cussler Museum tour, the MABC car show, ZCON, the Fall Leaves Drive, and our general meeting. A wide variety of events in September with something for everyone!
It is also time to RSVP for the annual banquet. This year, the banquet will be at Maggiano’s Little Italy on October 4th at 1 pm. We will award active member gifts and install the new board. It will be a fun afternoon to look back at the past year and gear up for the beginning of the new year! Thank you to all of the members who volunteered for the board. Without your time and energy, the club wouldn’t be able to do what we do!
I look forward to seeing everyone at our last in-person meeting of the summer at Prost Brewery in Northglenn. If you haven’t RSVP’d for the banquet, please do so now so I can get the head count to the restaurant. And as always, if you would like to host an event this fall, please contact our Vice President, Mike Rhyne, to secure your date and get the event on the calendar. Enjoy the rest of your summer and happy driving!!

Clive Cussler Museum Visit
Date: Saturday, September 6th, 2025
Time: 10:00 am
Price: $12 - 15
Host: Andy Mortenson
On Saturday, September 6th, we’ll visit the Clive Cussler Museum in Arvada. Clive Cussler was the author of over 50 adventure novels. He was also a car enthusiast since childhood and began collecting classic cars after moving his family to Colorado in the 1970s. This renowned and extensive collection features over 100 examples of rare, classic, and antique automobiles. The museum showcases over 75 cars at a time and rotates them on an annual basis. It’s been ten years since our club last visited the museum, so I’m sure there will be some vehicles on display that we haven’t seen before. The museum is located at 14959 W. 69th Avenue in Arvada. We’ll meet at the museum at 10:00 A.M. and tour as a group. There is an admission charge of $15.00 for adults and $12.00 for seniors. Contact Andy Mortenson if you have any questions.

Awards will be given for the best vehicles in the following categories: American, muscle, and foreign cars, as well as trucks and motorcycles. The church is located at 13231 E. Vendor Feedback Requested
I’m Don Gordon, your new Public Relations Director. Many members join ZCCC for the great vendor discounts we offer, and I want to make sure our Vendor Discount Program is serving you well. I’d like to hear about your experiences with our vendors—whether positive or less than satisfactory. Your feedback helps us strengthen partnerships and ensure members continue to enjoy valuable benefits. Please email your comments to me.
Thank you for supporting our vendors!

Car Toys Discount Temporarily Discontinued 🚫
As your Public Relations Director, I visited Car Toys in Aurora on August 20, 2025, and learned that the entire Car Toys corporation had filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. Effective immediately, Car Toys will not be honoring our club discount. They have closed 4 of their 10 Colorado stores. A larger company will most likely buy them out, and in a few months, may reinstate our relationship. However, for now, I will have to remove them from our Vendor Discount List. The manager of the Aurora store informed me that they will remain open and continue to operate as usual, but will not be able to honor any discounts for the time being. I will let you know if anything changes.
