October 2nd, 2025

As we settle into the new school year, I want to remind everyone of the morning drop-off procedures to ensure a safe and smooth start to each day. Please note that the school day begins at 8:10 a.m. Students arriving through the front entrance after 8:10 a.m. are considered late and may be marked tardy for the day in PowerSchool.

Drop-Off Details:

  • Drop-off begins at 7:55 a.m. unless your child is enrolled in Circle of Care.

  • Please use the designated drop-off lane on Washington Street. Drive to the end of the drop-off lane, where students can safely exit the car and walk to the playground.

  • A staff member will be stationed at the corner where students should be dropped off.

  • Please do not pull around the corner and park behind the bus.

Important Reminders:

  • Do not park in the drop-off lane and walk your child to the playground. This lane is reserved for quick drop-offs to keep traffic moving efficiently.

  • If you wish to walk your child to the playground, please park on 7th Street or in the Methodist Parking Lot.

  • If you are parking on the street or in the Methodist Parking Lot, please walk your children or have them walk across the street using the crosswalk at the corner of 7th and Washington. This is important for student safety.

  • Do not park in the bus lane on the north side of the playground.

Following these guidelines will help maintain a smooth drop-off process for all families. If you arrive late, please have your child enter through the main door of the school.

Thank you for your cooperation and support in ensuring a safe and organized morning routine. These details all help provide for a safe dismissal time for all.

Blessings,

Mr. Wieber

Enrichment Activities Form: Part 2 Enrichment Activities Form: Part 2

We are excited to announce that we will be offering 4 more additional Enrichment Activities!

Battle of the Books:

Elementary - Grades 4-6, meets the second Thursday of each month from 3:25-4:00 p.m. (Oct.-Apr.)

Middle School - Grades 7 & 8, meets the first Tuesday of each month from 3:25-4:00 p.m. (Oct.-Apr.)

Battle of the Books is a collaborative reading competition. It is designed to enhance student commitment, team building, reading comprehension, and study skills in a fun, informative manner. Teams of up to six students read from a pre-selected list of books. Students who prefer not to compete, are also welcome to join and take part in our monthly discussion meetings. Books included on the reading lists have been carefully selected and are chosen for their high-interest level, challenging vocabulary, and multiple reading levels. The books are purposefully selected to expose students to a variety of genres, quality authors, diverse cultures, and historical eras. These groups are led by Mrs. Sink. (limit of 10 participants for the club and 6 for the competition team) There is no fee for this club.

Japanese Culture Club - Grades K-8, meets on the second Monday of the month from 3:25-4:15 p.m. (Nov. - Apr.)

Students have a unique opportunity to learn about Japanese culture from Maoko Umeda from UNI’s Office of International Engagement. Students will learn about things such as language, calligraphy, and origami. (Iimit of 15 participants - a parent volunteer is needed to help supervise students - please contact Mrs. Grimm if interested!) There is a $5 fee for participation in this club.

MathCounts - Grades 6-8, meets on Wednesdays after school from 1:30-2:30 (Oct. - Feb.)

Students work in a group setting to solve problems that cover concepts in Algebra, Geometry, Logic, Probability, and more. A competition is held each February. Students interested in competition or in improving their math skills are encouraged to attend. This group is led by Mr. Hafermann. There is no fee for this club.

Rosary Club - Grades K-8, meets on Friday, Nov. 14 from 3:30-4:15 p.m.

Rachel Mueller will be leading a rosary group for students on Friday, May 2, after school until 4:15 p.m. Students will learn about and pray the rosary together. Any student in Kindergarten through 8th grade is invited to participate. Students are encouraged to bring a rosary if they have one. There is no fee for this club.

A paper form will be sent home with students this week. Please make sure to complete both sides of the form when registering.

October invoices will also have the website and student number necessary for creating an account.

We will no longer utilize Revtrak. If you have their site bookmarked, please update to the EZSchoolPay site.
