Arriving to the conference - some questions answered

7am - 2pm - check in at registration table to get your conference badge

7am - 8am - breakfast in the Grand Foyer

8am - 10am - set up in Grand Ballroom Grande III

you will be setting up during the main keynote speaker and the 1st session. If you finish set up, feel free to go an listen to any speakers.

10am - exhibits open!

11:30 - 1:30 lunch is in he Grand Foyer, and we have food for you. But I imagine it might be a quick meal or you can take food and eat at your table after 1:30....only because I think it might be the busiest time for exhibits. After people eat, it is the only time that exhibits are unopposed. So they are not competing with any sessions. I think there will be places to sit to eat, but it is not meant to be a 2 hour long lunch. It's eat and go visit all the exhibits (at least, that is how we planned it).

4:00pm - exhibits end and clean up begins.

If you are staying through Friday (or are able to stay later) you are welcome to join us for the gala and the Librarians After Dark event. This is just informal snacks, drinks and mingling. We will be set up in the hotel courtyard if the weather cooperates. But bring a sweater or jacket for cooler temps.

You will go in the main entrance of the hotel. You may check into the hotel, or proceed to the registration table for your badge. Then head to breakfast and then the Grand Ballroom. You can check it out first before you bring in all your stuff. The hotel is not that large. I will be there looking for you.

Hotel parking is right outside the hotel and there is no fee to park. It's very close to I-94 and should be an easy off the expressway.

Electric, internet and carpeted floors are part of the conference/room. No additional charge for that.

Want to be a part of our 1st ever Authors' Nook?

My name is Klaudia Janek and I am the MAME 49 Exhibits Co-Chair. I am a school librarian at the International Academy in Bloomfield Hills, MI.

We are going to host an Authors' Nook in our exhibit hall during our conference. The Authors' Nook will be an area dedicated to authors who would like to network with school librarians and have a space to sell their authored books. Instead of a full booth, it would be a smaller high top table.

Feel free to reach out to me with any questions.

We have an "exhibitor only" time scheduled. The exhibit hall will only be open on Thursday. Feel free to stay for the duration of the conference.

Lunch is included in your cost. We hope that you will feel welcome to join us for a meal. We also have an after-hours event which is the perfect opportunity for informal networking. Librarians After Dark occurs Wednesday night after our pre-conference and Thursday night after our awards ceremony.

Individuals must call the hotel at 734-761-7800 to place the reservations on or before October 10, 2022.

Guests must state that they are with the Michigan Association of Education in Media block at the time of reservation in order to receive the discounted room rate.

Block code is Michigan Association of Education in Media. (yes, the hotel got our name wrong in the contract)

Please book in our conference block because we need to meet a minimum number of rooms as stated in our contract. We are encouraging all or attendees, authors, vendors and presenters to do this.
