A Message From Mr. Moon
Celebrating Growth, Classroom Smiles, & Important Reminders!
Dear Wildcat Families,
It has been an absolute joy walking through our hallways and stepping into classrooms over the last couple of weeks. One of my favorite parts of the day is getting to see our students in action- watching them master their new daily routines, build strong friendships, and dive headfirst into engaging hands-on lessons. The positive energy across every grade level is contagious!
This week, our students are starting to wrap up their i-Ready Beginning-of-Year (BOY) assessments. I want to thank you for encouraging your children to do their very best. The data we gather from i-Ready is an incredibly valuable tool for our teachers. It helps us pinpoint each child’s unique strengths as well as areas where they might need a little extra nudge, allowing us to tailor instruction and provide the best possible support for your child all year long.
Quick Safety & Operations Reminder: To ensure a smooth, safe dismissal process for all of our students and staff, please remember that there are no early student checkouts after 2:15 PM. If your child has an appointment or needs to leave early, please make sure to check them out prior to 2:15 PM. We greatly appreciate your cooperation in keeping our end-of-day procedures safe and organized!
Thank you for your continued partnership, enthusiasm, and support. Together, we are building a foundation for a year full of incredible growth and success.
Have a wonderful weekend, Wildcats! 🐾💜
Your Proud Principal,
Mark Moon

Children need healthy meals to learn. Gwinnett County Public Schools offers healthy meals every school day. Breakfast costs $1.75; lunch costs $2.50 for elementary and $2.75 at middle and high schools. Your children may qualify for free meals or for reduced-price meals. The reduced price is $.30 for breakfast and $.40 for lunch. The following information includes an application for free or reduced-price meal benefits and a set of detailed instructions. Below are some common questions and answers to help you with the application process.
Who can get FREE OR REDUCED-PRICE MEALS?
- All children in households receiving benefits from Georgia SNAP or TANF are eligible for free
- Foster children that are under the legal responsibility of a foster care agency or court are eligible for free
- Children participating in their school’s Head Start program are eligible for free
- Children who meet the definition of homeless, runaway, or migrant are eligible for free
- Children may receive free or reduced-price meals if your household’s income is within the limits on the Federal Income Eligibility Chart. Your children may qualify for free or reduced-price meals if your household income falls at or below the limits on this chart.
Transportation Changes
If your child has a transportation change, please send a written note to your child’s teacher that morning. The note should include:
- The date
- A phone number where you can be reached
- Clear transportation instructions for that day
For student safety, transportation changes cannot be accepted by phone. Please also try to avoid sending transportation changes through email or messages, as teachers may not be able to check them during the school day. In the event of an emergency, please call the school office.
We encourage families to keep transportation plans as consistent as possible. Predictable routines help ensure a safe, smooth, and efficient dismissal process.
Thank you for your understanding and partnership in keeping our students safe.
