Kahoot!, a Versatile Study Tool
Over the years, Kahoot has become a versatile classroom engagement and student self study tool. Most likely you are used to its traditional "multiple-choice type" questions, but did you know that it has more "gamified" options like the ones you might see with Blooket? It's not necessarily easy to know how to play all of the games and what modes work best for your classroom goals. The easiest way to understand the newest Kahoot games (that are not in "Classic Mode") is to play together. That's why we will have upcoming virtual Kahoot sessions simply to get you more acquainted with the different options.
Other new Kahoot offerings are:
- Syncing Google Slides to Add Engagement (AI Assist is available)
- Using the "Kahoot Generator" with a PDF or AI Assist (AI Assist is still a work in progress)
- Kahootopia- Tool that celebrates classroom achievement (Students special rewards)
- Host Kahoots in Lecture Mode- This mode runs at your own pace as you progress through a class discussion or lecture. The teacher launches each Kahoot question when desired.
- Free TED-Ed & Kahoot Videos & Games- Spark curiosity and explore powerful ideas with TED-Ed! Bring learning to life with these kahoots featuring TED-Ed’s award-winning and expert-created Animations. Delving into science, health, history, and beyond, these kahoots create a fun and immersive learning experience to inspire curious minds anywhere!
- Discover & Create Learning Content Aligned with Academic Standards
If you want help or more information about any of these, please schedule a work session with the link at the bottom of this Smore (or below my email signature) OR put in an FMX request for Professional Development and it will be instantly assigned to me.

Kahoot Workspaces
In my estimation, Workspaces are the most confusing Kahoot concept.. A “Workspace” is where content is created, edited & organized.
You can easily switch between workspaces, but I often get questions about why we need more than one? The general idea is that workspaces exist due to certain setting concepts. Think of Team Workspaces as places that make it easier to collaborate and share content while Private Workspaces, focus on privacy and giving the owner of the Kahoots more autonomy. Check out the images below to hopefully better understand the two workspaces and how you will want to use them.
